  • QZSS Support [GPS, added in v1.170]

Well, that was easier than I thought.

I'm tracking PRN 194 and 195 no problem from here in New Zealand (QZS-2 and -4 respectively). Subframes are decoding and the software is flagging them as good. I have a little work to do to make the az/el display work correctly for them.

  • New category: Installation, Antennas and Interference

I've added a new category specifically for installation, antenna and interference topics. There were some older, but very valuable, discussions in the general "KiwiSDR Discussion" category that were difficult to find due to the sheer number of topics in that category. If there are others you think deserve to be moved please let me know (i've only looked back about six months so far).

  • Some things I have noticed [problems with a large DX/label database]

Today's release, v1.168, has some improvements to the speed of dx labels during normal operation. Please let me know how the changes work for you. Problems during on-screen label editing are still being considered.

  • Is there an issue with the inactivity time limit? [fixed in v1.165]

Okay, bug has been found and will be fixed in today's update. A very unfortunate side-effect of an unrelated change made some time ago.

Note when testing: as a convenience, connections from your local network are exempt from the inactivity and 24-hour timeouts. Look for a log message like "TLIMIT exempt local connection from 192.168.1.8". Same if you have given the exemption password with a local browser and it has been stored in a cookie.

  • External Control [e.g. antenna switch interface]

The KiwiSDR server software does not have to be modified to control a device like this. The existing antenna switch extension already has the ability to run per-interface shell scripts which in turn run whatever command level interface software goes along with the device.

  • v1.161: FSK/RTTY extension

Yes, my software for EFR is already way beyond what was in the v1.161 release. It took a while, but I finally found more details for not only the framing but the telegram formatting as well. Also, I have actually heard HGA22 and DCF39 (but not DCF49) here in New Zealand. It happens right at sunrise during certain times of the year (greyline propagation). This was from November 2016 (note 5:39 AM local time)

  • V1.158 Audio Underruns ? [try browser site-data-clear]

For what it's worth, I tried Firefox and Chrome with OS X and Windows 10 on your Kiwi and had no problems.

Looks like I forgot to enable it. It will be available in v1.161 later today..
