John, I agree with the advice to " stop being nice " when it comes to the issue of doing development work for foreign suppliers who just harvest your work, do a slight repackage and reap the benefits. I'm not sure there's a huge number of…

Thanks for all you do, John. Both Kiwi's look fine now.

All working now. Using Bookworm, and running Rob's wsprdaemon, and and instance of QRSSPiG being fed by kiwi recorder on 22M and it all seems great. Oh, and no memory leaks like Bullseye . Thanks for the help!

OK, thanks that worked, I'm a bit closer now (picture monkey fumbling in the dark...)

Got that installed and running, but a test copied from my old installation results in: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/371/IZ8JW7FTFBA1.png Is there an argument I need to pass kiwi_nc that I'm failing to provide? Thanks John

John, Let me go give that a shot on my Pi and see if I can get it going from there tomorrow AM. Thanks very much for the quick response! John

Not a deal breaker. I trust my credit card company far more than I trust PayPal.

Excellent news John. Looking forward to ordering as soon as available. If we specify the BBG version, will there be an option (with hopefully some instructions) to upgrade the BB later?
-
Looks great John! It's encouraging to see how far this has progressed.

Please put me down for one. Thanks John K5MO

If only Phoenix Connector made them, it would be great. :-)
-
Yep, and they are everywhere, but I find them fussy to build with appropriately sized conductors and the pre-made ones are usually of very poor quality with very little copper in them. I like the green rectangular connectors better, but I know the…

I'm certainly up for at least one Kiwi2. This is really good news. I like the idea of a buck/boost DC input. I'm not a big fan of the ubiquitous barrel connector either, but hard to beat I suppose when it comes to not eating up board real estate.

Looks really good Jim. Is that enclosure at the end of your kiwi brick a manifold for a larger (quieter) fan, or for shielding, or...? John

Thanks John!

#iot is out of stock (I just got an answer from them)

This is very sad to see, but I'm grateful for all the joy I've had operating and using Kiwis across the world. Thank you.

Would Pipewire run on a Pi(4)? It looks like a great way to feed multiple apps with a single source.

Seems good to change the default, though I've switched to using Robs 'daemon to do WSPR decodes and it works great with my Kiwis. I think the reason folks use their call on 22M wspr is to ensure that they get picked up on the WSPR aggregators. I'm…

This is a really cool enhancement , and I'm having fun seeing the huge variety of ship traffic using the DSC decoder. Iv'e spent some time looking for a "Idiots guide to DSC message format interpreting" but haven't found any info on what …

Ben, that PDF file from Johns-Hopkins is fascinating (and disturbing). That's a lot of interesting analysis just based on open source info.

This is really great. Thanks for this added capability. Jim, thanks also for pointing out those active links. Some folks really live large!

My issue above was entirely self-inflicted. Due to faulty placement of the GPS pucks, my Kiwis were not getting good GPS fixes. When I fixed that issue (moving the pucks about 3') , my Kiwis calibrated and the default WSPR frequencies were fine fo…

Thanks John and Glenn, this is most helpful. I'm really surprised at the huge difference in performance I saw by moving the pucks such a small amount. Being able to "see" the window was of no value here, but getting the pucks away from th…

Stu's suggestion of peeling back the label and lubing the bearing is really good advice. I was consuming fans about every 6 months. They now run much quieter and I haven't had to replace one since doing this.

To revisit: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/816/ZG85V2PJLJGZ.png

That fixed it. I have an issue with the other Kiwi, but will start a new thread
-
OK, thanks John John

One tip learned on an earlier thread here. Peel back that label and put a single small drop of lube (I use the clear tubes that have a milky lubricant inside). Put the label back on and the kiwis have been running for a year with no more fan prob…

Hmmm. Something else I don't know how to do, but seems interesting. I'll do some searching on the forum to see how one uses kiwiclient. Being a Linux noob, everything is challenging, but the good news is I don't know what I don't know. :-) Than…
