You're right, @jks I have only a 60 MHz scope, so take the measurements with a grain of salt. On a good kiwi I measure 930mV RMS on the 65M test point, on the bad kiwi 3 mV. I don't have a signal generator, so I used the tracking generator of my sp…

Regarding the Firmware: It runs fine with a different kiwi PCB. So I think the firmware should be good. I tried now the sig gen extension but it shows nothing: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/107/LBKHXT2POUTM.jpg And the status from the admin page…

So, two of the kiwis appear to be running fine. On the third, the waterfall is blank, the S-Meter shows 0 dBm and it is not possible to select a frequency or demodulator. GPS appears to be working. I'm afraid it might have affected the LT2248?

A bit off-topic, but my signalink USB radio interface has also seen better days. https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/452/OHISB8SIT1KK.jpg It was connected via a 10m long active usb cable (which also doesn't work anymore) from my PC to the IC-706. It …

Thanks for the tip. My guess is that the CMC could be ok. The BBG have very low resistance on the 5V input so there would have been a bit of power dissipitation on the CMC. I measure 0.1 to 0.2 Ohm across the CMC but the resolution of my multimeter…
-
Thanks for the explanation @jks I think the BBGs are dead. They won't power up through the USB port. If I apply 5V on the VDD_5V, it draws 0.7-1 A, the TPS65217C gets hot and nothing else happens. I'll replace them and hope for the best. Can the BB…

Non-kiwi apps was already set to 8. But I had set the option "Number of channels not requiring a password even if password set" to 2, assuming the number would only include remote connections. I removed the password protection and now ever…

@rz3dvp Ah, thanks, I missed that option. I changed it to allow multiple connections from the same IP. It is still yellow on the map. And when I try TDOA it still says "all channels in use" even though both channels are free.
-
Correct, the kiwisdr can't see the source IP address through the SSH tunnel. Interestingly though, the geo ip lookup seems to be working. https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/518/J5KWLHN3S2Q4.png

The pin for my kiwi is always yellow, any info why that could be? In the receiver list, it always shows 2/2 available, even if they are occupied. When i select it for TDOA, I get the message "all channels in use" I use ssh tunneling to a …

When I change the tab in chrome for a few minutes, and return to the admin-tab, I get this message that the connection was closed. Maybe that's what PSO meant with "go elsewhere"

Disabling the hardware acceleration fixed it, thanks!

There's this module which switches on the power with a configurable delay: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/8733

@jks After upgrading from v1.518 to v1.523 the webinterface shows "Antenna: Mini-Whip", although i don't see that entry in the admin panel. kiwirecorder also gets the location wrong: lat, lon=[ +0.00, +0.00], Grid: RF82ci, Antenna: Mini-W…

The minicircuit isolation transformers are also available in a metal can with BNC connectors, sometimes there are cheap used ones available on ebay. FTB-1-1 with the T1-1 transformer (0.2-500 MHz at the -3 dB insertion loss points) I use FTB-1-6 wit…

@jks Thank you for providing the OS update. I spent the rainy afternoon with upgrading my kiwis, which went without surprises. My WiFi dongles seem to be supported now without having to install additional software, which is great. After the first re…

Hi, Kp6 is moderate, that is no big deal. Even during Kp9 storms I left everything on. It's more of a problem for long high voltage transmission lines, rather than the 110/230V grid.
-
Cool! Must be my best DX so far. But you were on the night side during the flare, right? I think the x-rays caused a significant absorption of the solar radio burst in the shortwave spectum on the dayside.
-
It seems that the waterfall amplitude (on the kiwi webinterface) is now slightly higher on the high frequencies, and lower on the low frequencies, just like in vk3qi's diagram. Spectrum with antenna disconnected: http://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/497…
-
@Powernumpty Ah, thanks for the hint. That could have been responsible for my observation. It was set to -15 dBm and the signal was exceeding that value.
-
I made an observation (earlier than 1.440), I don't know if it is related to this problem. In the presence of a strong signal (can be out of the receiving frequency), the audio volume occasionally drops to zero, and the s-meter shows -127 dBm, but t…
-
Perhaps you can build an LC-oscillator using a varicap, so its frequency becomes voltage dependent. Then you could monitor its frequency on the kiwi receiver, for example using the 27 MHz ISM band.
-
@Powernumpty Interesting finding. Maybe OFCOM would care to issue a sales prohibition? Ours has done so in similar cases.

(Quote) The mountains do that for me ;) Good for GPS(?), but bad for DX. (Image) However, I own a GPSDO, (Navstar only, no Galileo) which never archives specified accuracy. Maybe due to lack of visible satellites, or reflections, I don't know.

There was recently a discussion about GRI 99600 (Wildwood): https://www.mail-archive.com/time-nuts@lists.febo.com/msg07726.html

Another case of missing default gateway?
-
I think since he is using static IP adress configuration, /etc/resolv.conf will be permanent. So that should work.
-
The default gateway is still missing. If the configuration is done using /etc/network/interfaces, then you can add "gateway 192.168.1.1" (assuming that is the ip-address of your router) to the wlan0 section. Or for a temporary solution you…
-
The default gateway of your first kiwi is pointing to the disconnected eth0. The second kiwi doesn't have a default gateway at all. So the systems don't know how to reach the internet. There seems to be something going wrong when setting up the ip …

@W9SPY You could try using another power supply at the router (maybe the one from the old router). Just make sure it has the same voltage and polarity and an appropriate amperage rating. Using a _non_ shielded ethernet cable may also help. (The B…
