I tested Youssef's idea and was unimpressed. The thing is, from my perspective at least, that the "offending" signal needs to have as much ground wave component as possible. Otherwise, just selecting USB or LSB is a much better solution. M…

Too bad. Still worth a try if you have a power supply around with the correct voltage and connector. It's amazing how many RFI issues are caused by something as simple as a switching power supply.
-
First of all, make sure it's not the router's power supply. More often than not, a noisy router is not the router itself, but its PSU. If it is the same voltage, and the plug fits, try to power it up with the power supply from the router you replace…

The Kiwi uploads/processes 320 kbps with full load. A MW IQ file would be more than 50000 kbps, depending on bandwidth and bitrate.

Every KiwiSDR owner decides for him/herself how the server is used by visitors like yourself. If you don't like the setup, find a different KiwiSDR. Stop ranting, and move on.

Yes, I believe I waited well beyond an hour, but anyway, it got back with 1.390 but of course with a different IP address, so that explains the ping bit. But the scan should have detected it. I got really worried after having set up everything and a…

Dismiss. I found out. And Houston...(to be continued)

SAM clears up distorted audio in AM caused by selective fading very well. Good job!

RRI Tigunesti heard with Russian on 7305 at 04:30 to 05:00 UTC (a Sunday). Summer schedules in effect from 29 March acc. to website.

@kramcd not necessarily. Good linear PSUs are mostly noise-free. Moreover, many can be adjusted to the roughly 5.2-5.3 VDC ideal voltage. And while not "cheap", a Bel 3A power is only around 50-60 USD from Mouser, excellent value for money…
-
Just for the record: The Meanwell PSUs I bought for testing are not at all quiet. It could be that the ones I got didn't perform well. At any rate, I quickly brought the Bel power into use again.
-
@kramcd: I had no luck opening the sibamanna website.
-
Zyg, I use a Bel Power myself, one 3A to feed two Kiwis. I adjusted the voltage to 5.2VDC after reading about possible issues with "too low" voltage. There is a pot on the power which lets you adjust the voltage.
-
Just wonder if you can use .com. I used xxxx.ddns.net for my Kiwis.

According to shortwaveschedule.com, WRMI Australian DX Report.

I replaced one bulb at the time at my radio HQ, now every light bulb is LED. On MW (or SW for that matter), no problems at all. I haven't tested further up. No filament LEDs.

Further to John's comment re. Andreas' FAQ: Are there indications that for instance SIGINT services are using the KiwiSDR network? If that is the case, I suppose there is no way that the owner can identify a non-hobby connection? I live in an area (…

My apologies for the first post on the subject. I had a mix-up of passwords and jumped to conclusions without taking time to evaluate the situation. Not proud of myself...

Are the three links above dependent on the kiwi being registered at sdr.hu? I ask because I really do not want to be available via sdr.hu when the site has blocked my account. But I still want to be publicly available.
-
One I know was able to register with his grid code just minutes ago.
-
The requirements for the registration process has been the same all the time I think, the difference is that you can't access the site without being registered. When I signed up in 2017, I was allowed to register with a "shortwave call", b…

I'd like to support Chris' suggestion. Offsets are very often very stable, and MW DX-ers like me use offsets to see if there can be new stations on a frequency, and to "identify" old and less interesting ones. I use this function with the …

While this is certainly good news for many, I am happy that admin can disable the DRM option. It will not be enabled on my Kiwis. But while I'm at it, could it be that some might want their Kiwi to be exclusively DRM? Maybe an option in FPGA Mode?
-
Thanks, I have a few plastic boxes at hand actually, and spacers too to lift the board a bit. Btw the seller informed me today that they would sell optional boxes "next year". Yeah, right...
-
Is there an easy way to encase it? I see some other devices have a box included or as option.
-
Maybe a silly question, but nevertheless: Did you change Grid square and Location on the sdr.hu tab on Admin Interface?
-
I saw your post on Twitter and yes, sort of wondered "why?" But, having fun makes a lot of sense in itself, and your entire project is exceptionally useful to a lot of people! I have tested and to a part used, SDR servers like the Perseus…

Ah, yes you mentioned. I forgot.

That was then. After a while no-ip stopped working, the problem was not solveable and I had to go to proxy like I mentioned earlier in the thread.

The old account is still active with the arcticsdr kiwi, running with no issues since NOV-15 when it was first set up. But the kongsdr kiwi just couldn't cut it. I have had nothing else on the account, unless somehow the old 4G modem/router (a TP-Li…
