@jks You may enjoy the following read, you may also join us in our initiative. I believe our initiative applies to many of HAM radio HW/SW projects. The state of open-source in 3D printing in 2023 - Original Prusa 3D Printers FYI the Bambulab is a C…

Regarding discussion on whether the switched power supply is noisier than a good old transformer. A softrock style receiver was noisier on a transformer DC power supply than on an old DANCALL switched power supply made for NMT phones. The explanatio…

Maybe just leaving the package open will help with air cooling and the coil will not get burned.

You will find details given by jks on how to recompile and restart after one of the web pages is changed here: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/14520

I am happy to see a discussion on CW filtering. Often neglected is ringing of the filter in the presence of impulse noise. Frankly the current CW filter is not very gentle to my ears on low bands where impulse noise from thunderstorms is significant…

Thanks, it helped a lot. I can confirm that adding the meta at the top of the web page (openwebrx/index.min.html) <!DOCTYPE HTML> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8"> <meta name="…

@rz3dvp I think you can use PWR_BUT from BBG GPIO (PIN 09) to add a hardware power button for shutdown your KiwiSDR and it will be don't difficult implementation. Will the Linux and Kiwi server shut down cleanly? Is this functionality already availa…

I would also love to have the option to attach hardware button to halt the Kiwi so I can remove power safely. My installation is not quite permanent, I am experimenting with different power supplies etc. and having to pull out phone or laptop to hal…

BTW I wonder what are the GPS satelite identifiers starting with Q? They pop up and disappear showing very low SNR, thus I wonder whether those are just spurious detections?

I was stupid, I connected a long wire to the Kiwi antenna input without grounding. Today just before rain I heard sparks, disconnected the antenna quickly and retested Kiwi. Long story short, ethernet port on Kiwi is dead. Using a serial cable, I wa…

Hi Glen and Martin. Interesting info indeed. I am mostly interested in HF bands. I live at the edge of Prague with a lot of radio noise. I don't have space for a long dipole, however I received LZ1AQ loop amplifier, which I plan to set up as far as …

| you can use a small core but I'd suggest not using bifilar windings, rather, just make separate primary/secondary windings in a simple flux coupled arrangement with low inter-winding C. The Mini-circuits transformer is wound on a binacular core. I…

How can I measure such a low capacitance of the primary / secondary transformer coupling? Mouser offers a bunch of Minicircuits transformers. Which one is recommended? This one seems to be priced reasonably: There is no mention of the coupling capac…

I think you can already do that by editing the order of the frequencies in the 'band bars' list featured on the new the DX page of the admin control panel. Thanks

I tried to increase buffers, it did not help. Linux on Chromebook (the Crosstini project) is a virtual machine with XWindow and audio streamed to ChromeOS system (which itself is a slimmed up and modded Linux). Frankly I don't think it is worth our …

https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/14142#Comment_14142 I admire your energy and learning capabilities at your age. No mocking at all, I am in my middle age and the prospect to learn all of that would be scary.

Great improvements indeed, thanks! I am mostly using KiwiSDR to monitor CW segments of HAM bands. Would it be possible to streamline that? First, would you please make the order of items in the band combo box selectable, so HAM bands could be at the…

Hi Marco. Sorry, I was waiting for a commit on master, I overlooked you made your commit to dev. I can confirm it works on Linux on Chrome OS, however with a lot of audio glitches. I suppose the glitches are due to the audio emulation. The owner of…

Hello Marco. I get the following error message even with the latest source code on Linux / ChromeOS. Is there any logging I should enable to get a more informative log? Thanks and 73, Vojtech OK1IAK bubnikv@penguin:~/supersdr$ ./supersdr.py pygame…

Hello Marco. Is it really a "-b 1" parameter? Looking into the main.c source code, there is no such parameter. 73, Vojtech OK1IAK

Thanks, I see. I read an extensive explanation in some old post from John. For example, the I2C bus bandwidth one of the bottlenecks. Still I think the SpyServer like plugin for SDR++ would be cool and very useful.

Me too. I live in a thick walled house, which is difficult to cover with a single WiFi router. 73, Vojtech OK1IAK
