  • I've got The DRM extension running on 11695KHz and have a good signal, S5-7, but the audio won't lock. I have IQ feeding DREAM 2.1.1-svn808, faad2_drm.dll, on Windows 10 decoding 100% of the audio, sounds great. Both systems are using Chrome, one on…
  • Testing here. I have RX0 using IQ and feeding to the DREAM receiver. RX3 using the DRM extension. Both tuned to 15120KHz Voice of Nigeria. The RX0 receiver and DREAM are rock solid, without losing the audio lock. RX3 is intermittent. The KiwiSDR is …
  • I turned the small fan over on the original heatsink on the BBAI. That is the paper logo is now facing the heatsink. Wonder of wonders, it now keeps the BBAI in operating temperature range @ 1GHz cpu speed. I've ordered a 20x20x10mm heatsink and a f…
  • This reignites my interest in the BBAI and I'm loading software as I type. I wonder how to seriously cool this thing. Little fans recommended don't get it done. Maybe connect it to a shop vac... Ron KA7U
  • I used a plastic box (Waterproof Sealed Power Junction Box 100x68x50mm) that are sold on eBay, 6-32 x 5/8" STAINLESS STEEL PAN HEAD screws that I had on hand, and 50x DC022 2.1x5.5mm Headphones DC Power Jack Plug Panel Mount Connector for the p…
  • This solution is fairly easy and reliable. I haven't had a restart issue since placing a 90 second timer in line. It gives the router time to boot, and the KiwiSDR gets full power at start and an IP address. http://forum.kiwisdr.com/discussion/comme…
  • I put these in service on my KiwiSDRs and today the power company had on and off conditions for awhile. I set the time on for a 90 second delay. All the boards came up 90 seconds after the power and were operational. Well worth the time and cost to …
  • This will be a great extension addition! Best of luck with it! Ron KA7U
  • As far as I know Sodira is available for windows as an executable. I haven't found a Linux package for it, or the source files to compile it. The authors and program are here, so you could ask them. http://www.dsp4swls.de/sodirasdr/sodirasdreng.html…
  • Checked out the WWVB decoder and the FSK CHU decoder. Both work well (Image) Ron KA7U
  • Martin, I didn't mention this but you need to restart ssh after you change the sshd_config file. Rebooting the KiwiSDR is probably the easiest way to restart ssh. Ron KA7U

  • Martin, It should stay. I don't think the updates change the system files. Only the files for the KiwiSDR, which are located in /root directory. Even a system update should not change the ssh_config file, unless it was a complete restore. But Jon i…

  • This iFrame is running in a WordPress page. There isn't an iFrame running in the KiwiSDR, which might be what you are asking for. But for what it is worth, here is the code for inserting the iFrame in a WordPress page. Ron (Image)
  • I've got an Iframe running here: http://k7oji.us/webrx/ Ron KA7U
  • Looks nice Jim, and good results too. I've got on online but currently set for 4 standard receivers. I get it to 14 but the temp rises over 54C and I back off. I'm using the fans that is recommended by the Beaglebone.org folks, but they don't cut i…
  • James, Thank you for the link to the header extensions. They state the pins are extra long to accommodate a PCB. But a snip would shorten them to the appropriate length. I was thinking about removing the existing heatsink for a larger model, but may…
  • I ordered a BBAI from Mouser. Now I'm looking to cool it down when it gets here. Looking at heat sinks and considering the KiwiSDR cape will just clear the existing heat sink. I don't find GPIO header extensions, but there must be such a thing? htt…
  • I haven't approached this topic from your question point of view. Generally I try to adjust the preamp gain using input voltage to achieve the highest signal gain without raising the noise floor much. That is when the noise floor starts rising, it i…
  • Most of the IP addresses I've blocked generate bad params 2 or 3 times in a day. So not as busy as 47.88.219.24. If a legitimate purpose is determined for these bad parms log entries, I'll unblock them. Ron KA7U
  • This is my current "bad params" IP drop list on my SPI firewall in the router. Most of the bad connects have been on the 8073 port, but all of them have had some attention. iptables -I FORWARD -s 47.88.219.24 -j DROP iptables -I FORWARD -s…
  • This is the current block lists in the firewall command section of my DD-WRT router. iptables -I FORWARD -s 47.88.219.24 -j DROP iptables -I FORWARD -s 71.169.0.244 -j DROP iptables -I FORWARD -s 24.237.116.127 -j DROP iptables -I FORWARD -s 47.26.2…
  • iptables -I FORWARD -s 47.88.219.24/255.255.255.0 -j DROP should block it out. I'll watch and see if it does. A whois search lists Alibaba as the owner and has information on complaining about abuse. Ron KA7U
  • WINB @ 15119.86 KHz has been broadcasting half of a DRM signal, or the USB, not sure how to describe this mode. The lower side has been just carriers. I'm not quite able to decode it this morning. My 210' dipole was taken in a micro-burst wind storm…
  • I set the AGC sliders, Threshold, Slope, and Decay, all the way to the left, but I leave the AGC button selected. The settings for the Audio button are NB off, Comp off, LMS filter settings are not used, and the volume is at the default level. I fin…
  • Sturt, do you have audio? Have you refreshed the browser? Have you pulled the power plug on the kiwiSDR and plugged it back in for a hard restart? Which browser are you using? Is the KiwiSDR visible on the network? Ron KA7U
  • Glen, I reread your original paper to remind myself of your setup and assumptions. I don't have access to equipment such as you use nor do I have the understanding to effectively use it without some expert training. Still, I have a general idea of w…
  • I'm curious why it needs a follow up amplifier. The Norton front end should have provided sufficient gain for a receiver. I built a couple of these, https://easyeda.com/doxnairobi/Norton-2N5109-LNA , and the gain was more than sufficient. I found at…
  • Works fine. Once the tag is marked masked, the cursor needs to locate elsewhere until the new signal is heard and then when the masked frequency is selected it is blacked out with no audio. Seems to be a good solution. Ron KA7U
