Reading your post, I remembered that in the process, I was prompted to update Java. I OK'd and was asked to remove previous installations, on which I OK'd. That done, nothing more seemed to happen, and indeed there was no Java on the PC when I check…

"you and 25 other members made this drop a success." so make that 2 dozen or so ;-) Shipping early May.

Jari, I don't think you need to dig deep. Mini-Circuits have 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 (and maybe more) splitters of excellent quality. Combine with preamps if needed. Picture shows four 1:8 splitters + RF Engineering preamps at my KONG location. A total of …

Yes, that they keep it UK only is their own choice, I just commented to save non-UK members the trouble to look it up.

UK only.

Thanks for the info. Interesting, good MP3 audio with 192 kbps. However, of limited usage since time is not included in the file name. And I see nothing in Options to change that. Subsequent files are named (1), (2) etc. The built-in Kiwi audio reco…

720 mAh? Are you sure? I believe the specs say >1Ah, and I haven't been able to start up the Kiwi with a 1A PSU, or with a USB 3.0 (typically 950 mA) port. Yes, voltage is a concern. All USB 3.0 ports on my PCs are 5.02 to 5.04 VDC (measured with…

Thanks John, good idea.

Sounds a bit like the problem I had. New Beaglebone to the rescue...
-
15:00 UTC, so not yet sunset at my end, but around midnight at the transmitter.
-
Agreed, and I probably did well in buying two Beagles. Scan is now fine.
-
Thanks John. Anyway, I found the device on the first IP address I tested, and all is well with the Kiwi. Will be deployed the coming weekend. Equilibrium has been restored ;)
-
Just started to set up the Kiwi after a new Beaglebone arrived today. The scan function is still painfullly slow (I think I mentioned to John earlier). I have now tested with three different PCs on two different networks, cabled and wifi. Roughly 20…

Thank you guys for the engagement. Hopefully the conclusion is correct, and I can live happily ever after (and my visitors too).

I ordered...two! No problems at checkout. I've bought a bit at Mouser and they are excellent to deal with.
-
Mouser has cheap despatch and the price tag seemed reasonable - is this one ok? https://no.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Seeed-Studio/102010027?qs=Hlcjo%2fO3pQ5AxSET1oW%252b%252bg%3d%3d

so, what do you think? Is it software fixable, or is it a kiwi board replacement? Or worse...?
-
Thanks, did that. No cigar... Thanks for the tool though.
-
Scanner still takes 20 seconds/port after closing and restarting Chrome. Might be faster to enter addresses manually

I did have the Kiwi code this morning (when it was still not being seen), but then I flashed from the original card... I do not get the orange led. I am connected to a 4G modem/router TP-Link. but I have an Intel NUC which is connected to the same m…

Immediately after power-up there is lots of activity on all leds. Then the leftmost mostly dit-dits until a couple more rushes of activity after perhaps 60 seconds or more (I didn't take the time). Then the dit-dit settles in the normal sequence yo…

John, I did flash as a "last resort", so if it boots properly, it will boot with the 2016 software. Anyway, I am totally illiterate when it comes to Linux commands, so please don't ask me to... I adjusted the Bel power output to 5.19V and …

Thanks John, I removed the Kiwi board and inserted a short micro-usb cable. There is life! Green ethernet led is clearly working. To be fair, I'm a bit at loss as to what next...
-
From what I understand by the led lights, it did boot correctly a couple of times. However, there was never any contact with the modem/router. Several ethernet cables were used. And now it just sits "dit-dit"... Yes, no heat problems. I h…

You ask questions I can't answer, nor have I the equipment to ... but the datasheet is on this link (the actual model is HB5) https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/643/ds-BPS-linear-series-1314581.pdf I have booted the Kiwi both with and without additi…

Bel is a lab grade, 1 year old PSU. The two would draw around 2.3 - 2.4 A, but even with the Kiwi alone, there is nothing for it. Output voltage is 5.03V. So while I appreciate your suggestion, I don't think the problem is within the PSU.
-
I have a Bel Power Solution 3A, 5V PSU, which I have had for over a year. It's been feeding the Kiwi and a NetSDR. I have increased the diameter of the leads, just to be sure John's recommendation of minimum 22AWG leads be met (and with a margin). T…

We'll see what John says. Every time it now boots, it goes into "dit-dit" flashing leds and nothing else
-
It is connected to a router/modem. The system log of the past couple of hours show no requests from the Kiwi. And as I mentioned, no ethernet lights activity either. I flashed the Kiwi an hour ago, if it was a good or a bad thing I don't know.

The screen readers do not see the tooltip popups. I'll ask TJ if he can make a description of screen readers and what they see/don't see.
