should the microsd be formatted before backup?
HI , I have inserted a microsd card into the slot via a longer adapter so have not to open its box,
but when I press START BACKUP it gives the following error:
ADMIN: received microSD_write ----------------------------- KiwiSDR: copy eMMC image to micro-SD card Version: [1.20151007: gpt partitions with raw boot...] ----------------------------- include /root/Beagle_SDR_GPS/tools/kiwiSDR-SOC.sh ----------------------------- '/root/Beagle_SDR_GPS/tools/kiwiSDR-init-eMMC-flasher-v3.sh' -> '/opt/scripts/t ools/eMMC/init-eMMC-flasher-v3.sh' ----------------------------- ext4_options: -c ----------------------------- Unmounting Partitions ----------------------------- copying: [/dev/mmcblk0] -> [/dev/mmcblk1] lsblk: NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT mmcblk0boot0 179:8 0 2M 1 disk mmcblk0boot1 179:16 0 2M 1 disk mmcblk0 179:0 0 3.7G 0 disk `-mmcblk0p1 179:1 0 3.7G 0 part / ----------------------------- df -h | grep rootfs: ----------------------------- Error: [/dev/mmcblk1] does not exist writing to [/dev/mmcblk1] failed... ----------------------------- write failure error code 1 ADMIN: system returned 1
now before anything I am checking if the adapter+sd works on windows ,
but my question is : should the microsd card be formatted BEFORE ?

No, the backup script does everything. Including formatting. But the error you're getting means that the sd card is not seen by Linux at all. Try re-inserting the card. Or a different card. Has this "adapter" ever worked successfully before?
HI John, I have tried the combo (adapter+microsd 16Gb all new) in both combinations : via sdadapter and directly to microsd input, but no luck.
Even tried to pull&reinsert...
On windows10 works ok
I will try an old 8Gb card ... if I find it in the junkbox.
Buying 8/16Gb cards nowadays are expensive than buy a 128 or 256 Gb which are not
supported by the BBG.
