After a long back-and-forth with a customer we determined that the physical "ring/silence" switch on the side of the iPhone will mute the Kiwi audio from the browser. Despite the fact that audio from embedded apps like YouTube will continue to be heard.
So be sure to check the position of your silence switch before complaining that the Kiwi gives you no audio on your iPhone.
