You know there are chat packages out there that all you need to do is add a small snipped of html at the very bottom just above and it'll add those chat features on the bottom right like you get on some websites. It basically redirects to their chat platform.
Personally I'd like to just start a discord channel for SDR's. I actually made one but nobody wanted to come from the IRC. Just point a link to the discord channel instead. It is much more fun than IRC (and I'm an old school IRC user) because you can just copy and paste your images into the channel easily to share information without leaving the site.
