  • Okay, I see that now. Interesting problem. Thank you.

  • Please make sure your Kiwi is adequately grounded. So the antenna input protection circuitry has a path to drain any charge it is intercepting. Ideally this would be on the antenna coax near the RF in SMA connector. Or from the Kiwi metal case. The …
  • That 136.244.117.202 IP range is now in the blacklist as other people have seen it.
  • After you enter or change on of the text fields, and hit the enter or tab keys, you'll note that a blue square appears saying "Changes saved". But this isn't supposed to interfere if you're in the middle of subsequent typing into the next …

  • Okay, please do. That way I can check for any evidence on my end of what your Kiwi might be doing. Also, it might be useful if you could try decoding the pattern in the 4 blue LEDs to verify the local IP address. It's a painful process unfortunately…
  • Could you email your public IP and/or serial number to support@kiwisdr.com please? I can look on the server and see if it recorded any information as part of the my.kiwisdr.com registration.
  • Admin DX tab or user connection "DX labels" edit panel?

  • I tried the WSPR extension on 30m with the Kiwi I have admin access to and it uploaded fine..
  • So we need an alternative. In the past I've added code to determine the unique characteristics of such connections. And If I can distinguish them from legitimate connections then I can disconnect them soon after they connect.
  • They are so kind and list all their networks here: https://geofeed.constant.com/ Interesting. I'm surprised such a list is public. The problem with adding an exhaustive list like that is the extra burden it places on the Beagle. I imagine the traffi…
  • If anyone has problems with the timecode extension changes please let me know. I have tested v1.679 on various Kiwis around the world against these time stations and it seems to work much better than before: RTZ, JJY-60, WWVB-a, WWVB-p, MSF, RBU, BP…

  • While checking random Kiwis during the v1.679 update I tried the WSPR extension on one that had the reporter call/grid configured. No uploads to wsprnet.org But then I tried the same reporter call/grid in a relatively nearby Kiwi I have admin access…
  • You need at least 3 or 4 green (RSSI) channels (channels where the "subframe" blocks turn colors) in order to get a fix. Very important for the antenna to have a view of as much of the sky as possible. You will get some gain by putting the…
  • Coax loss is a big factor. I got talked into increasing the length of the RG174 on the antenna we ship from 3m to 5m. That was a terrible idea. The added loss at 1.6 GHz is huge. Even if it does make it easier to get the antenna out a window. http:/…
  • I see what happened. When I manually added the ALE entries back to the EiBi A24 database the frequencies didn't get sorted properly. Strange things happen when the database is not stored in frequency-sorted order.
  • 😕 Knowing that, I developed and tested a fix for this problem in about 10 minutes. Fix will be in the next release..
  • Added to blacklist: 137.220.40.124 and 207.148.92.163 observed making rapid connections, then using old API (SET MARKER variant). Both from constant/vultr/choopa VPS IP ranges.
  • Our current NBFM squelch code comes from the CuteSDR project: https://github.com/jks-prv/Beagle_SDR_GPS/blob/master/rx/CuteSDR/squelch.cpp I believe it does so by measuring noise power above the filtered voice frequencies. But I am not an expert. If…
  • For future reference. The conversation continued here: https://groups.io/g/wsprdaemon/topic/my_wsprddaemon_decode_counts/105934346?dir=asc
  • I think the gain adjustment issue with the CIC FIR filter addition was settled. The wsprdaemon crowd turned up at my door carrying pitchforks. With the evidence being differences in the noise floor graphs on wspr.live of all the wsprdaemon reporting…
  • Christoph has done work with piecing together (relatively) wideband output from the Kiwi to measure ionogram chirps: https://hcab14.blogspot.com
  • Okay, added to blacklist. Thanks.
  • That's probably an effect of the (relatively) new CIC FIR filtering. It doesn't have a perfect transition band response. So the region near the extremes of the sample rate (±10.125 kHz for 3-channel 20.250 kHz mode) is now attenuated some.
  • Sounds like more of a question for https://groups.io/g/wsprdaemon/topics
  • As I suspected there is no issue here. Attached are screenshots from Kiwis running v1.676 (recent), v1.646 (13-Dec-23) and v1.601 (25-Apr-23 about a year ago). Admin config tab cal values: S-meter -16, WF -11. S9 -73 dBm signal from an hp8657 into …
  • I set the repeat rate to 10 Hz. Not sure how optimal that is. One more thing for the eventual user preferences feature I suppose. The click-hold mechanism is also generalized. So If anyone thinks any other buttons/icons would benefit let me know.

  • Sorry, I got called away by a conference call. If your Kiwi hasn't updated to v1.677 before 3:00 UTC then when it does it will get the change. If it updated prior to 3:00UTC then go to the admin update tab and do a manual build via the "build n…
  • Okay, adding this feature now..
  • So after a power up, as opposed to a software restart, the Kiwi waits extra time before starting the server. This is so if the power up is from a general power failure there is time for other network equipment to restart and stabilize before the Kiw…
  • Please try this: Push the "Click to (re)register" button for the proxy and get it working again. Then use the "Beagle power off" button on the admin control tab. And power up just the Beagle (not the router). See if it works afte…
