Manual adjustments for the allocation of auto WSPR slots for unused slices?
-
Its the ref to JA that threw me. If that the new place to hang out for 80, then it would be best to refer to it as preferred or by Region as that the usual format?
-
Thanks, thats great should give me something to get stuck into TA
-
Thanks, I didn't know they could use ARQ with STANAG. TA

Checking back after 38 Hrs and I'm still showing 12 stats. Early indications look good.

Could it be that TDoA has focussed peopled attention on GPS fixes, this has further highlighted the issue. I never paid much attention to GPS before TDoA, now I check it every morning :-)

Thanks Daniel

Thanks, Martin, I found the HFDL issue interesting, as it's an international "safety critical service" you would have expected this to be a prohibited frequency. I know some countries don't subscribe to the same rules, maybe that has somet…

I was so happy with the puk on a metal plate I decided to pick up a decent GPS antenna from ebay. HUBER+SUHNER 1315.17.0008 1575MHz 34dB N female gps antenna antenne Aerial (ebay search terms) This is now coupled to a short length (circa 6m) of LMR…

Ive noticed this tonight, the sat count has been dropping off over the last couple of days. I was down to 4, and a restart picked that back to 11. IMO it's probably worth a restart every few days, not an issue if SW is dropping frequently. I see in …

Thanks, Martin, very interesting.

Thanks, I think I nailed it now, seems to be on the South coast not too far from Weymouth / Bournemouth area been going all day hopping over 3 freq. TA
-
OK thanks, yes that's exactly it. I wasn't aware of the "click on reference station" very handy thanks.

I also ordered one of these (ebay description including spelling mistakes) for £15 - HUBER+SUHNER 1315.17.0008 1575MHz 34dB N female gps antenna antenne Aerial If it lives up to expectation (and gets to me from China) then it should allow for some d…

I found this type of cheap "marine" style GPS antenna to work much better than the cheapo GPS puk. Could I ask if you are posting about the GPS antenna you are using, then a link to the website would be helpful TA

Thanks, Martin that's very helpful. While I was searching around online I found this document. https://apps.fcc.gov/els/GetAtt.html?id=165013&x= This I think could cover this type of transmission, they use 768 KW (ERP) interesting to read the F…

Thanks, well it certainly didn't behave like I expected it to hence the post. Maybe I have missed the point, but why isn't 3000 considered to be a USB passband? Seems a little bit of a backward step to me, I click on the waterfall change the passba…

I can see a lot of what looks like SMPS noise, I think its in both of the spectrum plots, but shows up more on the RA0SMS. I had a major issue with a local SMPS, looks like you need to prove that one isnt under your control before looking further. I…

Yes it amazing, having great fun. Im sure your right, its just the map was showing a lot of conflicting information, and I wondered what sort of propagation (NVIS I assume) would result in very little correlation between receiving stations. TA

In between the CW ident this was the "idle sound" https://drive.google.com/file/d/17y2mwrAM_74xjqvOrQLPEQX_p6E0AH2n/view?usp=sharing

OK, an update for the group. The GPS issue is mainly fixed now, these are the steps I needed. 1/ Remove GPS patch from the puck, replace coax with something double screened. 2/ Attached the braid and shield of the puck can to a metal plate 40 x 40 …

OK thanks, I have learnt a lot from these posts. I feel the need to elevate the antenna somehow, to give it a better view of the horizon. That's the next part of my resolution strategy :-)
-
The QRP labs have a patch antenna built onto the GPS receiver, you don't have the option to add an external antenna. This unit will fix inside the house, on the ground floor with little or no view of the sky. I think from what you say my view of the…

It's difficult to tell, but it sort of looks like it's severely attenuated. When you spliced in the better coax how good was your splice on the antenna end? Its probably not the best, but the antenna seems to pick up more after the change than bef…

I did try and log into the admin page, but it wouldn't let me. I think its the definition of a few minutes, mine took around 10 so I wasn't sure if it had failed. Looks good now TA

OK took some time, but seemed to resolve itself.

I assume by the lack of comments everyone is happy with this undocumented feature? Thanks for the clarification John, I've made my views clear, I would prefer the password was more secure and included upper and lower case characters. Ta Dave
-
I have to say I do find that a little strange. If you going to do that you really shouldn't be able to type uppercase letters in that box. At least that way the user would realise the issue, and hopefully select a password that doesn't overly rely o…

Really? That does seem a little insecure. I wonder how many admins are aware of that... Ta Dave

Thanks, for your help I see what you mean now. OK its displaying now you have added the br. TA Dave
