  • I think they should do away with the voting bit. Says me, who's number 168 on the list :-D What people need is to find one which can cover the geographical target one wants to listen to. With around 170 receivers online, it's increasingly difficult …
  • Thanks John for resolving this! Usually I do have a hinch about what's wrong but this time I was in total darkness. I am very grateful! For those who want to visit the northernmost KiwiSDR, the link is now kongsdr.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073
  • And then I lost contact again. And a few minutes later, back on. What??? NOIP seems to be ok. Internet connection ok all the time. And now it's gone. How to resolve this??
  • It was on, and visible on its local network, but not outside. Since for once I didn't have a PC connected to the network, I couldn't restart the server or Beagle. Seems to be ok now.
  • Only a brief remote test: Very much better, though I didn't test all zoom levels like Martin did. Will check out both local and remote later today. Bjarne
  • It should be noted that I experience the same behaviour (both with audio and less latency) on remote and local connections.
  • Yes, selecting Snd and reload seems to have "normal" audio. I missed the "reload" in your first posting.
  • Likely the same problems as Martin. Audio sample here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c1wrj04pzbp53ez/kiwisdr_9480_v1115.mp3?dl=0 Never had this before as I can remember. Surface Pro 3, Chrome. Regards,Bjarne
  • You should consider potential noise if the pump is electric. I actually have a rather serious interference problem (though mostly on LF) caused by a water pump fed from a 200-metre long, presumably unscreened, AC power cable. The cable is around 250…
  • I set up donation link to my site. It helps. Have a look:kongsdr.ddns.net:8073
  • Well whatever happens I need to be there to cut and reinstall power. The PC connected to the same modem as the Kiwi is available, so I don't know what the error is.
  • The Kiwi is currently unavailable (I am , rather was, running via Teamviewer).  I did run wget and got some response which for obvious reasons I can't rephrase. After cdp and up, after which nothing happened for several minutes, I restarted the serv…
  • Ah yes....forgot about the log. It seems to believe that it's running the latest version: Sun Jul 30 14:51:48 2017 0:12:53 0... UPDATE: force update check by adminSun Jul 30 14:51:48 2017 0:12:53 0... UPDATE: checking for updatesSun Jul 30…
  • To add to John's comment: It's somewhere like USD28 for two years of hosting at noip with no recurring confirmation request. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • Thanks James, I have ordered enough to make for all my beverages. That said, for a choke to remove noise there actually has to be (internal) noise, and I'm not sure of the internal/external distribution of my noise sources.  Wellbrook made an "…
  • All parts except the 40T1417-104 appear to be available. Could there be a substitute/equivalent for the latter? Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • I don't know if this is related to Rob's problem, but I logged into one PC via Teamviewer, which in turn started four sessions of the Kiwi. No problems. I use Teamviewer all the time to control five PCs with Perseus SDRs at two different locations, …
  • That was a massive design compared to what I've seen elsewhere, but Jack is/was an RF genius so why not try. I had his active antenna once, and it blew away the Mini-Whip in comparison. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • Thanks John. I'll have a word with my ISP about that. The strange thing though, was that after I reconnected the PC to the router's network (and assumingly its DUC sent an update), I could access the Kiwi. There are a few variables here I need to so…
  • Here's what I did and found. Unconclusive. Log files attached. SERVER RESTART 00:50:49, see kiwisdr_log_210517_0130_1st_server_restart 5 minutes DUC update enabled. I restarted with laptop disconnected from the 4G router. External units could not c…
  • I have just changed the DUC update to 5 minutes, and will do a server restart as well, so to replicate the situation and monitor over the next several hours. My setup is a 4G modem/router to which the KiwiSDR and a laptop is connected (via ethernet,…
  • Tested again today - with the PC having been disconnected for several hours I tried to connect from remote - no cigar. Connected the PC to the Kiwi's network and a few minutes later I could connect. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • We'll see when 1.85 comes along! Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • Not my intention to "promote" competing hardware in this forum, but did you consider the RFSpace CloudIQ (as an alternative to Perseus)? Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • I have Gmail in Chrome yes.
  • Thanks John. That raises another question: Should the links be there? If I use Edge, the link opens Chrome, but an empty page. Don't know how Firefox, Safari, Opera behave though.
  • Back-forward function and A/B VFO get my support. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • My DUC applet had 5 minutes default update, though I don't think it matters much. Anyway, another thumbs up from the frozen north, I've turned off my local PC and everything seems to be running smoothly. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • FWIW - after John helped me with my DDNS issue, I decided to buy one year on no-ip. My TP-Link 4G modem/router is highly configurable, so no problems with DDNS once I learned it. Bjarne Mjeldearcticdx.blogspot.com
  • Looks like everything is well at my spot, tested from two different locations. Bjarnearcticdx.blogspot.com
