kiwirecorder.py crashes

Hi @rrobinet

I have a fix for these crashes, waiting for @jks to merge them into his fork of kiwiclient.

These crashes were caused by changes for python2/python3 compatibility.
kiwiclient kiwirecorder etc

Hi @WA2ZKD,

For sure the documentation can be improved. But for this you would need to be more specific: what exactly is for you/the user you imagine not clear/missing/etc.?
