I tried the script on a spare BBG and it runs fine here... @bob53bob It is http://kiwisdr.com/files/KiwiSDR_BBG_BBB_EEPROM_fixer.img.xz if you can write it on a PC. But I wouldn't trust that BBG in this case...

What type of power supply do you use, can you measure the voltages on the kiwi board, particularly 5V/5VE? http://kiwisdr.com/ks/troubleshooting.pdf In another thread you mentioned that you were using a relay board, does it happen when you switch it?
-
Additionally to what John said: Perhaps the volume slider in the "audio" tab is at minimum?

I wonder why I don't have these problems, but my v1 kiwis have uboot_detected_capes=KIWISDR10 Also I'm using wifi dongles, which perhaps aren't affected. But I tried it with ethernet too which works as well.
-
Yes, it's already powered up. From what you wrote, it sounds like the image was loaded successfully onto the Beaglebone. Assuming the led flashing back and forth, and it turned off afterwards. But John seems to have found a problem with the image, …

Given the fact that you're the second one with a similar problem.. I wonder if you can change the IP address if you keep the default port.
-
Yes, the part with the image sounds ok. Also the double flashes is normal after successful boot, I think. It should get an IP address from the router via DHCP.
-
Just for clarification: You flashed the img file onto the sd card (and not just copied it)? And you have a router where you can see the assigned IP addresses but the fresh kiwi is not listed?
-
The simple way is to reflash the kiwi, but you can try to recover it: So that old 192.168.8.152 address is still lingering around somewhere on the kiwi and for whatever reason, the port change reactivated it. It will not respond to that address, be…
-
One last idea: You could use a laptop or other device, assign a 192.168.8.x address manually to it, and connect it directly to the kiwi. But without explanation why the kiwi has a 192.168.8.x address it's hard to say if this will work.
-
You can also type "dmesg -t" and check if there are any messages at that time which would explain why the wifi connection dropped. Or "journalctl |tail -n 1000"

Which brand/model do you use with the RTL8811CU which supports 5 GHz?
-
Does the LED on the ethernet port still light up?

/lib/modules/4.19.94-ti-r42/build should be a link to the linux headers, Which should be in the package linux-headers-4.19.94-ti-r42 in this case, so "sudo apt install linux-headers-4.19.94-ti-r42" should install them. BTW, I got mt76x2u …

@jks when i ping an IP with no route, i also get no error until i press ctrl-c. But it's weird, 192.168.8.0/24 would be the BBG/BBB default network for SoftAp. Where does that come from? That doesn't make sense. Since the kiwi it's new, it's probabl…
-
On the BBB I had to hold the boot-button during power on to boot from the card. With the BBG that was not necessary.
-
You can also use the incognito mode on chrome (Ctrl-Shift-N) or private mode on firefox (Ctrl-Shift-P) to visit a site with default settings.
-
The second kiwi will need its own (external) port, for example 8074. I'm surprised that the router would let you assign two devices to one port.
-
That will be the load of the CPU, User, System and Idle

Can you tell a bit about your environment? Can you place an antenna far away from buildings, or are in an apartment of a 20 story building, etc.?
-
@Yogicat It worked fine for me with dd.
-
The coordinates in "Public" should be used for the receiver map, via the /status page, correct?
-
There is also a location field with coordinates, have you tried changing that? https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/791/QT55B4C6PYYR.png

@jks The linked image (http://kiwisdr.com/files/KiwiSDR_v1.661_BBG_BBB_Debian_11.8.img.xz) seems to be the a beaglebone debian 12.2 image without kiwi software
-
Thanks for the update, greatly appreciated. Early January you mentioned that you were planning to update all platforms to Debian 12, is that still valid?

The currently ongoing >X3 flare just wiped out almost my entire spectrum: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/714/M1DSKEV8H1Y7.jpg https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/233/PR313YP9OOPZ.png

It worked for me without using ethernet. After adding the line to main.conf, I reloaded the configuration with: service connman force-reload The wifi will interrupt for a few seconds, and when it's connected again, the modified config file will be u…

I had a finding when using the kiwi with wifi that might be useful to others. I have noticed that at irregular intervals the latency to the kiwi briefly increases to a few 100ms up to 1 sec. The background scanning was to blame. Connman scans for ot…

If you search for "GPS timing antenna" on ebay, you can often find used high quality antennas from cell towers, for example GPS-TMG-HR-40N. They last an eternity even in harsh environment, but are a bit more expensive.

Ah, that's convenient. Thanks.
