@ArturPL Can you be more specific about what conditions/setup you're talking about so I might be able to recreate this issue?
-
Should be fixed in v1.592
-
qrz.com Forgot about that.. lol

Looks like he has chosen not to list an email on his Kiwi (on the yellow Stats tab under "Links"). But he's registered on the forum. So you should be able to send him a private message (PM). Click on the mail envelope inbox icon at the top…

Yes, something did change. Let me look at this..
-
Fix coming in the next release of both kiwiclient/kiwirecorder and the kiwi server. A new server release is required because new API is necessary (i.e. kiwirecorder doesn't understand the HTTP 307 redirect the server normally sends the kiwi browser).
-
Another update to the repo adds new option --wf-peaks=N that saves the strongest N spectrum peaks information to a .txt file.
-
@G8JNJ I've avoided this idea because it has an associated chicken-and-egg problem. When a new connection request comes in you'd obviously need to kick one of the existing autorun connections. But doing so involves stuff like shutting down the soun…
-
Another update to the repo that gives sensible defaults when --wf-png is used (namely, --speed=4 and --quiet). Thanks Rob.
-
I did some (but not a lot) of testing on a BBAI (thanks Jim!) It seemed to be okay. So give it a try and see what happens. The spot uploads to pskreporter.info and wsprnet.org seemed to work in parallel.
-
Thanks for that. Any insight into silicon switches? I guess there are certainly enough commutating (Tayloe) mixers out there that seem to work. I'm thinking more about relay replacements in the front end.
-
Just curious -- has anyone ever characterized the IM3 performance of these solid state attenuators at 0-30 MHz? It's great that the Psemi parts spec for insertion loss, return loss and attenuation error goes down to zero. But input IP3 starts at 3 G…

Please update from the repo. Using the -v option will show kiwirecorder v1.2 versus the prior v1.1

Not sure I understand the question. Using combinations of --snd and --wf you can get sound data only, waterfall only or both. As to which channels are used: If a sound-only connection is made then the non-waterfall channels are used first (e.g. ch2-…
-
Yeah, it would have to be a data dependent problem on the waterfall values sent by 10.33.33.33 Like getting a NaN somehow. Is there some way I could connect to that from here so I could add some debugging code?
-
A quick check: it works for me using your same parameters. Let me look at that colormap issue though.. ~/kiwiclient 529 m wf-png python3 -u kiwirecorder.py --wf --wf-png -s ai64 -p 8073 -f 15000 -z 0 --log_level info -u krec-WF --tlimit=5 2023-04-02…

kiwirecorder supports so many options now that the code doesn't complain when all invalid sets of options are used. The included Makefile is a big help. The problem here is that --wf-png requires --wf to setup the waterfall channel. --wf-png without…

Yes. If you add &no_wf to the URL then (on an 8-channel Kiwi) you'll be assigned a channel from rx2-rx7 first before rx0-rx1 (the channels with waterfall). You can't choose a specific channel because you have no way of knowing if it is already b…
-
Please try it on a channel other than rx0 (e.g. with rx0 already connected). Also, for rx0, see if the problem persists after every reload of the page.
-
Please give v1.590 a try and see what happens. Thanks
-
Further testing shows my workaround is not perfect. It only fixes the problem roughly 90% of the time. That is, out of 10 page loads (on channel rx0) roughly one of them will show the problem. How do we know this isn't just a bug in the IQ extension…
-
there is no link to the SD card image for the BBG/BBB Fixed. Thank you!
-
I have a workaround now, but I still don't understand the root cause. I believe it only happens on the first channel (rx0) and not the others. For example I could configure 8-channel mode and force my first browser connection to rx2 by using &no…

Alright. I did some stuff in the user interface and I can stop the rotation completely in all cases. 66.66 or 66.6666 or even 66.6659 -- doesn't matter. So this is just some stupid bug related to first time frequency entry. I just need to find it.. 🙄
-
Okay, I can confirm unexpected very slow IQ rotation. With a 66.66 MHz external adc clk and phase locked 10 MHz rx signal I'm seeing 2:55 min for one rotation of the IQ display. Interestingly, 66.6666 MHz gives one rotation in 1:40 min. This effect …

I think I've updated all the documentation now to deal with this situation. Remember that you don't need to do anything if you're running Debian 8 and a recent version of the Kiwi software. Although you certainly can do an upgrade to Debian 10 if yo…
-
I think you're right Rob. We're going to have to (finally) abandon Debian 8 on the Kiwi. For new re-flashes at least. The glib error is a side-effect of more D8 (Jessie) repos falling into disrepair. And as a result apt-get install is failing for a …

Hi Tony. I PM'd you the email of the TWR person who maintains the Bonaire Kiwi site.
-
I just edited those instructions to be (hopefully) a bit more clear on a few points: It's okay, even beneficial from a security point of view, to install Debian 10 if you're installing from scratch (i.e. not upgrading). The need to wait for 45 - 60 …

Yes, I agree completely. Let me work on my test equipment setup (something I've needed to do for a long, long time) and do some checks.
