Okay. Can you get to any other Kiwis listed on rx.kiwisdr.com?

The spec from ITU-R M.493 section 1.3.3 is +/- 10 Hz. The current Kiwi mark/space filters can handle that fine. I bet real Selcall radios use PLL or FFT based FSK decoding that tolerate greater off-frequency signals. But this makes me realize anothe…

@tustinfarm But most of the recent changes are relatively minor (except for the extension work). There hasn't been much progress on the big problems (mobile, global preferences, binary install/failover, ...)

Finally got my W10 laptop updated and running again. I don't see this problem using: Firefox 101, Chrome 102, Opera 87 or Edge 102. So I'm not sure what to do from here. My laptop says it isn't capable, hardware-wise, of supporting an upgrade to W11.

After a DSC freq is selected you can set "show errs" from the DSC menu to see which TXs are not being shown because the FEC failed (a character plus its 400 msec delayed copy both had parity errors so the message content can't be trusted).…

Okay, so not on the proxy. I was able to get there without problems. When you get home please let us know some more detail. You're in CA, so this probably doesn't apply. But I'll mention it anyway: http://forum.kiwisdr.com/discussion/comment/9770/#C…

Okay. That's pretty weird though. For the audio to get corrupted (audible glitching, not underruns which are normal and can happen for other unrelated reasons) it would have to be at point where the data is not under the protection of Ethernet, IP p…

Can you get to any of the Kiwis shown on rx.kiwisdr.com? What does your browser say when the connection fails? That the host is not responding or that it couldn't resolve the hostname? And lastly, is the Kiwi in question on the proxy service, i.e. i…

Do you mean a Kiwi you own or a someone else's Kiwi on the Internet? (it wasn't quite clear to me) If it's your own, do you mean you can connect from your local network but can't connect from the Internet (i.e. outside your local network) using the …

@ok1iak Part of the Rocky FFT algorithm is already built-in to the Kiwi! (lol) It isn't generally known (and not fully documented 🙄), but the "IIR" averaging setting of both the waterfall and spectrum are taken directly from the Rocky &qu…

@benson If you set a temporary admin password and email it to support@kiwisdr.com I can take a look and see why after an update admin logins are failing. This assumes you still have a way to get back to a working version if I can't make any progress…

Thanks. I'll check for activity on the AU outback networks. I found a few things that discount the fishing buoy theory. Some buoy manufacturer info mentioned how they transmit only on demand after receiving a wakeup signal to conserve power, which m…

I looked at this for a long time. It ranks up there with the most bizarre Kiwi problems I have ever seen. I have no idea what is wrong. My guess is that there is a severe networking problem somewhere that is corrupting data. Like a bad Ethernet cabl…

@ArturPL I like these two ideas. Added to the infinite list.. lol

The DSC thread has talked about that issue. Most DSC decoders just print the message info in a tabular form without much validation or interpretation. I wanted to really understand the spec (which is terribly written) and produce more refined output…

Okay, in the next release a "server closed connection" will instead do the same thing as if you had clicked the server restart button on the admin page, control tab. A countdown timer will be shown and after 60 seconds a page reload occur.…

Can this Kiwi be made available from the Internet? Is so please set a temporary admin password and email to support@kiwisdr.com I think there must be some corruption of the build files somehow.
-
In the next release I think this is fixed.

Does anyone have a case where Win10 laptop doesn't work? Win10/laptop is all I have. Which browser? USB mouse left button, correct? What happens with touchpad left button click-drag? Same thing or works?

If anyone knows of reliable frequencies I can monitor for Selcall signals (or where I can ask) please let me know. Either here or at support@kiwisdr.com Information about CCIR 493-4(/UN) nets seems to be somewhat scarce. Below is one I happened to …

It's possible this is somehow a bad build of the software. If the admin page works go to the "update" tab, click "build now". Then the "console" tab, click "connect", and type "m blog" into the field…

I have no idea what the "VM320/VM321" stuff is. That's a problem. What happens when you try other Kiwis running v1.537 and earlier from rx.kiwisdr.com? What browser are you using? What happens when you try another browser?
-
Please send an email to support@kiwisdr.com

v1.535 should have been okay. v1.534 had a disastrous problem due to a failure by the external service we use to compress javascript files (I didn't check it because the changes were so trivial I never expected there to be a problem -- famous last w…

@VK7JH Thanks Jim. That packet is out-of-spec, but also not unreasonable. It's US Coast Guard Honolulu sending a safety test to itself. Normally tests like that go between two separate entities (i.e. a ship and coast station or between two ships). …

Re: DECODE 4.N messages. Thanks for the reports. I think v1.530 should fix these particular two cases.
-
Parity error. And FEC is forward error correction of course. EOS is "end of sequence", a DSC term.

v1.529 has a reasonably working version of the DSC decoder addition to the NAVTEX extension. WARNING: Because DSC is primarily a life-safety application you are reminded that this implementation is to be used for hobby radio monitoring only. Do not …
