I am running the ddns client on the Kiwi and I have been for a while. It is very handy to have the ddns client on the kiwi itself... As a quick workaround I am using a different machine which is unfortunate: another possible point of failure, more e…

Hello, not sure since when, but the blacklist is now preventing my node from being able to update its ddns enty into duckdns.org. Duckdns is a somewhat popular free service that does dynamic dns and they use amazon: appservers-duckdns-prod-163033957…

Just for posterity: I had the exact same issue describe in this thread, solved the same way. I hope pins aren't getting loose!

Thanks for the very useful feedback. I suspected the "ramp up" time since the beginning and now my suspicions are even higher. Unfortunately I don't have a scope at this location, but I already ordered a delayed relay.

It would be nice if those labels could somehow be dynamically refreshed, crowd sourced and customized by geographical area

I will stick to the 5V because the circuitry internal to the battery would increase safety and also provide charging circuitry. In order for my discharging capacitor to do the job, I will try adding a the right combination of diodes (zener) on the r…

on a second thought, that capacitor cannot work with the relay. :(

My goal is a solution able to avoid short power interruptions under domestic circumstances and I agree that the UPS solution (although easier) seems unnecessarily expensive and potentially noisy. One idea I am exploring is to use something like thi…

I have seen many devices like that battery but I am afraid they would all be switching. Wouldn't they?

Rob, Yes I noticed the effort to have the daemon run on Macs. Yet, I thought that running it with a single command and without installing anything was a nice thing to have. I didn't want to publish my own image but if I had anyone could have run yo…

My tunnel does not present two different public ip addresses. Besides, I have my good reasons for using my own proxy and I prefer not to use the one provided by Kiwi (nor to publish a household IP address to the world). I can live without sdr.hu, n…

I wonder if a filter could be built for this specific type of problem...

The beaglebone creates an ssh tunnel to an host in the middle and forwards a remote port to port 22. I then connect to the middle host on that port. I have used the same setup for years with a Rapberry PI, never had any issues with it

I'd like to point out that setting the eth card to 10-base-T made a huge difference in terms of noise. Thanks Ron for letting me know. I also would like to point out that living in NYC is probably one the worst spots in the world in terms of noise, …

It could be filesystem/eMMC damage, in my opinion. I was thinking the same. For now I am restarting kiwid twice per day (I really cannot afford sshd to go down on me as this is a remote setup!)

Thanks great info. Thanks!

Martin, Thank you very much for your suggestion. I might try to build one on SMD directly with male-female SMA connectors. Alain

That could be the explanation... :/ Thank you

Ron, Thank you for the promt reply. Holy cow, your setup puts mine to shame!... Unfortunately I cannot put my hands on my receiver as it is located in Europe while I am in the US. I will however definitely try to set 10 base on the eth card. Alain

Ron, I believe there were no updates. If the eth cable was the cause I wouldn't have been able to login via sshd. But I have... Alain

I forgot to mention that I use the Chinese Linear Power supply suggested in the KiwiSDR documentation. The board is not enclosed

I just finished installing a 1.2 meter copper loop with a commercial LZ1AQ amplifier. The station is in Central Italy. The overload indicator was up all the time so I temporarily installed a 15dB attenuator (by Mini-Circuits). The indicator is now …

The problem seems to be my 32GB micro SD. Worked fine with a 4GB card. I guess I have all the answers to my questions now... Thanks anyways!

I guess its backing up the whole thing. The problem now is I'm getting this:ADMIN: received microSD_write-----------------------------KiwiSDR: copy eMMC image to micro-SD cardVersion: [1.20151007: gpt partitions with raw boot...]--------------------…

The new clone solved the issue. Case closed. Thanks!
