revised script #!/bin/bash # switch wspr autorun bands systemctl restart kiwid.service cp /root/kiwi.config/$1 /root/kiwi.config/kiwi.json
-
I can confirm that works fine!
-
do you think I can cp the kiwi.json followed by a restart and get away with that without a stop cp start like I use now?
-
By scheduling the 4-channels on my dedicated wspr kiwi, I have been able to log stations on every band, 137 KHz through 15M in less < 1 week.
-
This scheme is running very well. I created another .json file for catching 476 KHz and low end stuff at 0800Z. I need to let those run a few days then review my loggings on wsprnet.org and get the switchover times refined to for changing propaga…

one scipt can call... day, nite, late, and many files day.json if you wish
-
Ron... Look in the crontab entries... day and nite get passed to wsprctl as $1 date and nite are the previously saved file names
-
I have this all working and it is doing well. Currently I only have 2 periods, day and nite. Here is the way I did it. I use one kiwi with all the channels allocated to autorun. Step 1: pick which four bands toy want for each period and using the a…

thanks... sample of what I'll use #!/bin/bash # switch wspr autorun bands systemctl stop kiwid.service cp /root/kiwi.config/band.json /root/kiwi.config/kiwi.json systemctl start kiwid.service

the builds are getting longer to do.
-
there were a number of quick updates last week so your running into this is no surprise. If you had logged into your admin page, you would have got more info.
-
if you could command it via a Linux shell script, you could use cron to select which bands via TOD
-
elevation masking is used in RTK stuff
-
this any closer to what you want? http://jontio.zapto.org/software-and-hardware/jmsk.html

I "think" Spectrum Lab can do it, just need to figure out the exact settings... http://www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/speclab/wavfiles.htm#I_Q_files

I see QZSS pop up here but don't think I've seen an acquire yet

the "aiming" may only be a matter of staying off the north wall of a structure (or south in the that hemisphere). If your view is omnidirectional, that's as good as you'll get. My previous experience was that my antenna that was 1M off the…
-
Martin If your antenna is a helix type, tilting it may make no difference. Here is some related info http://gpsworld.com/wirelesspatch-antennas-new-gnss-12552/ -Jim

Thanks so much for posting that!! I wondered what happened when a station was further north. What type of GPS antenna do you use?
-
Knowing that north is a "lost cause" for me worked out. I was able to side-mount my GPS antenna higher on an existing structure and now have a low elevation view on other birds with no degradation on the north to worry about.
-
days of Firefox, still good.
-
an extension that allows the GPS data to be viewed by others would be handy!
-
I'll be posting the full story of the shadow soon

The kiwi manual cites this antenna https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCTEL-GPS-26dB-Outdoor-Antenna-GPS-TMG-26N-w-Pole-Mount-Collar-Lucent-Maxrad-/362002051789 The one I used is a higher gain variant, was cheaper and works well with long coax and/or splitt…

24 hours of Firefox, no problems
-
While it's likely Broswer related, I'll give this additional background. I never started longterm monitoring of GPS until I added my new antenna which sits and has 8-12 acquired birds. 4 hours in with Firefox, still OK
-
Chrome did same after 17 hours. Next Up Firefox
-
after 10 hrs, Chrome test OK. Chromium appears to be the problem
-
from fresh start, minimal apps ran, happened again after 11 hours. Trying Chrome
