@f6bir The default gateway could be missing or wrong defined. Can you show the output of "ifconfig" and "route"?
-
@fabrys It looks now much better than the last time I've visited your kiwisdr. I don't think the distant transmitters have anything to do with your noise situation. I still think that it is coupled from a power line near the antenna. Do you have an…

Hi Fabrys, I think I see emissions of at least two switching mode power supplies in the spectrum, plus a bit of PLC noise. Can you elaborate the position of the antenna? It should be placed as far as possible from any power lines and electric devic…

@fbx That could have to to with the fact that the human brain is very good at correlating brightness to power, but not very good at correlating colors with power. I've read a study about this some years ago but can't find it at the moment. But her…

Yes we have Sporadic-E since two days almost non-stop, 10m was/is open all over Europe! Even at this time (local midnight) i still receive S9+ signals from UK on 10m.

By the way, most transceivers have a "Key" output which goes low/high when transmitting. It can be used to switch off the loop amplifier or LNAs via a relay during the transmission, to prevent damage from high RF levels.

The qrp-labs GPS receiver module has really an exceptional performance. It even gets a lock behind 90 cm solid stone walls at my QTH. It's a miracle to me, how this is possible. Your screen indicates that the GNSS signal is heavily attenuated. With…

Hi, Is it possible to run the Kiwi+BBAI passively cooled? 12 kiwirecorder sessions would be connecting to the kiwi, no waterfall.
-
have you tried the powertop utility? (apt-get install powertop)
-
I made good experience with the filament LEDs which recently popped up. They run on such high voltage that they often don't require a switching mode power supply, but only a capacitor dropper and a rectifier.

The FAQ says (Quote) I don't like this decision and won't sign up.

Thanks, I will check the fence thoroughly. There is nothing growing to the height of the fence wires, maybe there is corrosion somewhere. Although the fence was newly built less than a year ago. The affected antenna wire is 55m in length, almost pa…

@jks how about having the admin interface on a separate tcp port? Common practice in similar devices. But of course you can't keep users from sharing it with the entire internet.

cat /dev/urandom >/dev/null once per CPU thread

Thanks for the links with the comparison. Although the external reference is clearly better, I think considering the low frequency used for EbNaut, phase stability/noise it isn't a problem. But I haven't done the math. A known problem at receiving E…

Does anybody have data on the stability of the frequency/phase of the kiwi? I tried to decode Ebnaut (coherent PSK on VLF/LF) without success so far, but yet without a good SNR signal source.

Unfortunately I'm behind a CGNAT. @loststation maybe?
-
I have the problem on one of my kiwis. The other one is fine. I thought it was a problem on my side, but couldn't find anything so far. But I didn't wanted to complain either, because it isn't a stock installation.

There shouldn't be a noticeable attenuation on 40m with that filter. (Image)
-
Would be cool if you could plot the delay between GPS time and the time station time.
-
I wonder how many innocent mice have been blamed for this. It works wonderful now. Thanks, jks.
-
It still happens here with v1.350
-
Yes, it happens on my side too. (Linux/chrome and linux/firefox)

Here's an image that you can expect from a seek reveal pro. The problem with small components is the minimum focus distance. If you go closer, the image just blurs out. (Image)

It is not very much known about FRBs, we don't know about their amplitude and occurrence (if at all) on 30 MHz. I just thought it might be worth to have a peek, if it could be done without much effort.

There's also this one: http://wspr.pe1itr.com/

I can confirm that the s-meter on the web interface shows the noise floor also by about that amount higher

I had also observed this problem once. When users were connected, the kiwi stopped acquiring satellites (also with "Acquire if Kiwi busy?" enabled). In my case it was related to the kernel 4.4.155-ti-r155. I suspected a problem with missin…

I think for the BBG it isn't necessary. If someone goes through the pain of finding a compatible USB dongle and kernel and driver and encryption, he might as well configure the IP address. If BB-AI compatibility is considered, it would of course mak…
