Out of interest, how does that happen? 42.5+24.166 = 66.666 47.5+19.166 = 66.666 So that is mixing with the ADC clock I assume, but where? Is that aliasing?

@engineercarl That should be prevented with the latest blacklist update. Click "download" on the network tab if you have not allowed automatic updates. But I think your entries (Apr 30) were from before that update.

I have also observed this, but have not found a pattern. For example, from my kiwi it happens with Wessex3, but not Wessex2. If those are SSB signals which are shown on the Wessex3 waterfall, then it could be that it is a different zoom level, but i…

I also had them in the log, they seem to have being lurking on the /?camp site.

I know, I'm even running debian stable on my desktop PC. I had tried 6.1 in the hope that a WiFi driver would be fixed (which wasn't). In the stock 5.10 it does not support hardware encryption.
-
What Beagle release is using Linux 6.1? Newer kernels for bullseye are available in the repository (up to 6.9rc) and seem to be booting, after manually installing the bootloader. But probably not meant to be used in a production environment.
-
That being said, the current update seems to be safe. But it doesn't work with 6.1 Kernels, there seem to be an issue with the overlay. @jks Speaking of RTOS, I was wondering if you ever tried to run it on the beaglebone realtime kernel.

From my experience, ethernet noise also depends a lot on what is on the other end of the cable. Some routers seem to produce more noise than others. Perhaps some of them have the line pairs not very well balanced, or a bit out of phase.

Beautiful captures of Type-III emissions!

The kiwi has a low pass filter ahead of the attenuator. That should give some extra protection for frequencies above 30 MHz. Maybe John has measurements or simulations, but a quick simulation that I ran gave -24 dB on 50 MHz and -92 dB on 144 MHz.

@ve6jy Looks like you were typing journalct1 instead of journalctl
-
@DenBoz You were typing kiwi.jason but the file name is kiwi.json, are you sure you were editing the file correctly?
-
Maybe it would be a good idea to limit the log file size (/etc/systemd/journald.conf)
-
I should have known that. It's really much faster. Thank you.

As far as I could find out, and as far as I understand, the IP address alone does not qualify as personal data, since it can change over time. (And it is technically required to be processed, for example to prevent abuse) If a user identifies himsel…

To store the name/call of a visitor with their IP address, the consent of the user is required to comply with GPDR/DSGVO. It would be good if this could be added.
-
That's a lot of interesting products. Thanks, Martin.

@IK8SUT The image doesn't get updated with new kiwi versions, only with OS updates. The last (debian 10) image had a 2 year old kiwi version when it got replaced with debian 11.

I think 8.219.247.109 (alibaba cloud) is doing the same as the russian datacenter guys. I've seen that for quite some time but didn't bother, as they did it not as extensive as the russian guys, only maybe once or twice a day. It looks like they are…

@studentkra Thanks.

It's hard to get better coupling than 20 dB with reasonably spaced antennas. But what I do with Kiwi1's: Transmit first with very low power and check the signal level on the kiwi. And then calculate how much it can take.
-
Special care should probably be taken at low frequencies. From the PE4312 datasheet: https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/979/PKDKU8V4LX4Z.png
-
The antenna is active. There are passive and active GPS splitters, mine work well with an active one. With a passive splitter, the signal might be too low. And you potentially need to take care to not backfeed the 5V bias to the other kiwi, although…

@jks Is it safe to keep the kiwis on the old debian 11 image if my KIWISDR10 kiwis didn't had problems? (So the part number will not be overwritten with blank spaces in the future)
-
Do you turn on the power supply while the kiwi is plugged in? Some power supplies ramp up too slow for the kiwi and it won't start...
-
@jnijkamp Do you have connected the power supply to the kiwi or the beagle board? IIRC the beagle board can't deliver enough current for the kiwi if it's powered from the usb port.
-
Impressive, that works surprisingly well. I'm curious how you did that.
-
Well that's odd. Does it get an ip address with "dhclient eth0" ?
-
fe80:: is a link local adress, it assigns that itself. @WA2TP Does that ethernet cable/connector work on other clients? can you show the output of "ethtool eth0"
-
--- If there is no power down within two minutes the fix didn't work. Try the procedure again. It would be also interesting to know if it is getting an IP address from the router while it is blinking twice. If not, it is probably something wrong wit…
