  • can't smoothly drag waterfall [fixed in v1.350,351]

Yeah, if you move too far vertically while dragging and cross one of the invisible canvas elements the dragging will stop prematurely. Fix in today's update..

  • v1.350: CW offset config, extension enabling, waterfall & frequency scale panning fixes

    From the CHANGE_LOG file:
    v1.348,349,350 November 23, 2019
Admin config tab: add initial CW offset field.
Kiwi owners/admins: If you don't like the default 500 Hz this is where you change it.
Non-owner/admin users of a Kiwi have to change the passband manually as usual.
Admin extension tab: add user enable for each extension.
Don't want users using a particular extension on your Kiwi? Disable them here.
Only works for internal extensions currently (i.e. not for the antenna switch extension).
Local connections (same network) are exempt from these restrictions.
Fixed specifying frequency in URL when configured in transverter/downconverter mode.
Fixed premature end of waterfall panning when dragging near left edge.
Improved behavior when dragging in the frequency scale.

Me too. I always thought it was just the crappy trackpad on my laptop.

It's an interesting bug that is a side-effect of the audio FFT added for 8-channel mode. I have a fix ready for the next update. Also fixes for unexpected mouse-related behavior in the frequency scale.

  • Possible DNS issue with one of two Kiwis on same network

Okay, I've looked at this for a long time now and I think I see what's happening.

I first disabled the Kiwi built-in DUC client on both Arctic and Kong and made sure there was no DUC process running on the Kiwis.
Then I went to noip and manually set the target ip to 213.161 ... (via the "modify" button) for both Arctic and Kong and observed that the "last update" time shown on that page (the last time noip received an update request from any DUC client with the proper credentials) was 21:00 CET.
    So far, so good.
But at 21:19 someone sent an update to noip for Kong with an ip of 77.222 ... The 21:00 update for Arctic remained from before.

So the issue is who is doing this? A check of the Kiwis again showed no DUC clients running.

Did you ever download from noip a DUC client to run on a Windows or Linux box that might still be running with the 77.222 address configured?

  • Kiwi BBAI software installation instructions [updated 4-Mar-24]

The instructions in the first post of this thread were changed some time ago to remove the need to checkout the "dev" branch as all the BBAI changes have been merged into the master branch now. So try that instead.

  • WSPR when down converter declared [fixed in v1.347]

    Fixed in today's v1.347 release.

The extension "band" menu will now show the frequency presets available based on any transverter/downconverter offset ("frequency scale offset" parameter of the config tab on admin page). So you'll see either all the HF presets or one of: 6m, 4m, 2m, 440, 1296. Or the band menu will be empty if you're down converting a non ham band frequency range like airband or something. The admin autorun menus will show all the possibilities and only autoruns for those bands that are possible will be started. You can specify "2m" etc. as a URL parameter e.g. "ext=wspr,2m"
