Sitting my Ham license :-)

So after having an interest in Radio for most of my adult life, I have finally got the study guide and doing a cram course with the local NZART club here in Napier and our local colledge (EIT)

If anyone has any good online references, that would be appreciated. I think I have a decent amount of inherent knowledge, however there is still some to learn. (like the rules and regulations).

  • Good luck.

I don't use mine that much, but if you are interested in radio, it's always handy to have an amateur licence.

In the past, it used to be a valuable "pseudo" technical qualification when seeking employment, but those days are long gone.

    Have fun,

  • I was told that hamstudy.org would be quite good for learning for the american exams, although I haven't tried it myself.

Regulations are often country specific, so that might not be helpful in this regard.

  • Well, half way through my Ham Cram. Exercising brain muscles that I forgot existed but all good, I know much of the stuff, however its a case of bringing it all back to the surface and not make stupid mistakes in the exam.

  • Passed!

    I'm officially now ZL1SXG
