Working Debian BeagleBone but no SDR radio [fixed]

edited February 15 in Problems Now Fixed

My Version 1 kiwi Serno 1346 has given me many years of faithful service. Now it appears I have a debian computer that runs OK but no radio.

1. I am able to  "ssh root@192.168.1.120" or "ssh debian@192.168.1.120" giving the master password I supplied when the radio was first setup. Inside, everything looks normal linux. With a browser aimed at 192.168.1.120:8073, I get a ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

2. I held the boot button down and plugged in the power.  The blue led on the left (#1?) flashed vigorously with #4 flashing occasionally.  Eventually the left blue led falls into the heart beat pattern  "blue, blue, pause, pause" repeat forever. I never see the coded messages flashed.

3. I poked around using the trouble shooting PDF as a guide. All voltages are very close. Didn't look at any of the waveforms as my OScope is ancient and may not even work anymore.

4. I prepared two microSDs with two different images. Still at the "blue, blue, pause, pause" repeat stage as neither image had any appreciate effect.

5. I ran a couple of the batch files that John had setup looking for errors. Nothing stuck out. like Cdk...etc.

Any ideas on what next to try? Thank you.

  • Can the ssh port (22, or another) be opened on your router so that I could connect and take a look? Might be the easiest way to go. If so, please email Kiwi URL and ssh post & password to support@kiwisdr.com

    Thanks

  • My internet is via Starlink which comes with the dreaded cgNAT. My understanding is that tunneling is the only way through cgNAT? However, I can run any command as ROOT and send the results. If I was clever, I would have my errant kiwi set up on IPV6. Starlink provides iPV6 but I've never used it (knowingly).

  • Okay. ssh in as root and do "cdp" and "ms" (make status). See what the error is (if any) at the bottom of the status listing that is preventing the server from starting up. If it seems like it might be looping (starting over and over again) do this to try and observe the multiple restarts: "msl | tail -n 500". Email the results to support@kiwisdr.com. We can also continue the conversation there instead of on here.

  • File on it's way.
