USERS not matching LOG?

I finally have my Kiwi V2 up and running, got one in an early batch but it has just been setting on the shelf. The Kiwi V1 will become an internal only Kiwi in the next couple weeks, while the Kiwi 2 remains public. My Kiwi V1 is stuck on V1.462, and I have not been able to update, but that is a different issue.

Since putting the Kiwi 2 online a few days ago, I have noticed that the USERS tab / log does not match the connections I see happening on the LOG tab. Is this normal? Is there a reason for it?

Thanks,

T!

Emailed you about the Kiwi-1 / v1.462 issue.

The admin log tab has to be a summary of connection activity rather than a (truncated) list of connections as found in the log tab (or a more complete list as found in the Linux system log). If it's a list it can grow without bound and that causes memory use problems when a server instance is long-running etc.

So for example the total connection time per user name is displayed rather than individual connect/disconnect times. However, different IP addresses used by the same user name is kept track of. The connect time is not updated until the user disconnects and the connected session time is known.

  • Thanks for the reply. Yeah, and my Kiwi tends to be long run instances. The last time I looked at my Kiwi-1 admin screen prior to this last month, do anything with the Kiwi but open the browser as a user, was over a year ago I think.
