Question re Log Area of Admin Interface

In the Log area of the Admin Interface, there are two buttons at the top, one that is labeled "Dump" and another labeled "Clear Histogram."

I've looked in the Quick Start guide and cannot find an explanation as to what clicking on the "Dump" button accomplishes. Can anyone explain? (I'm just curious about this, is all).

    Debugging aids for me. Push "dump" and see what you get in the log. "Clear histogram" followed by "dump" is a little more subtle.
