  Short answer: Four, because that's the minimum number needed to generate a GPS fix.

  
  

  With navigation timing and position accuracy are directly linked. The better position fix you have the more accurate the timing solution will be. And more satellites leads to a better position fix. But in practice it seems that even a single fix from just 4 sats is enough to eliminate the largest error in the ADC clock: the offset caused by crystal temperature.
