Login to admin page on version 1.25?

  Are you using a browser on a machine on the same local subnet as the Kiwi? If the Kiwi has no admin password set then it only allows password-less logins from the local subnet. After a password has been set you can login from anywhere (provided you know the password).

  
  

  We had problems in the past with local subnet detection not working on networks that use IPv6 addresses, or mixed IPv4 and IPv6 networks. We believe these problems have been solved in the last few releases, but of course the initial software delivered with your Kiwi is very old, v1.2   So if you're trying to access the admin page without waiting for the network update to finish you might have problems. You can tell what version the Kiwi is running by connecting to the SDR normally (not the admin page) and noting the version number in the panel at the bottom left (e.g. "Config: v1.25")

  
  

  It's possible we broke something in the v1.25 release, although we just tested it and local network login seems to work on our IPv4 network. If you think v1.25 is broken then please login to the Beagle as root and do the following:

  Try connecting to the Kiwi admin page

  ms To dump the Kiwi log

  For people wondering how this ended up, the Kiwi and browser were indeed not on the same local subnet. There were two 192.168.x.y/24 subnets connected with a microwave link. And the 'x' part was different between them. So the Kiwi correctly did not allow an automatic admin login since the incoming connection was not on the same subnet. They ordinarily would be during initial Kiwi configuration and you could then auto-login and set the admin password. In this case the workaround was to login to the Beagle as root and add the Kiwi admin password by manually editing the /root/kiwi.config/kiwi.json file.

  
  

  FYI: note that the Beagle root password has nothing to with the Kiwi admin password. They are two separate passwords. Likewise the Kiwi has a separate user password that you can configure in case you want to make your Kiwi accessible on the public Internet but require a password to connect.
