Kiwi 2 and backup

I am the happy owner of one of these incredibly great machine.

After few months of operation I would like to create a backup SD card to be able to reflash the whole system just in case.

As far as I understood I just haave to use the admin/backup tab and create a backup SD card.

I did not get a SD card when I received the Kiwi and I would like to know the size of the SD card I have to purchase in order to make a backup.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi Francis, F5LFE,

Here it is said 8GB or larger : http://www.kiwisdr.com/info/#id-install

Just insert it in the Beagle Bone socket, and "Click to write backup SD card" in the Backup tab.

You will see live informations about the writing process and when it's over.

Do not forget the card in the socket : at the next power cycle the Kiwi memory would be flashed with the stored image.

Somewhere it was mentioned you want a MicroSDHC card of 8-32GB. John or someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding, MicroSDXC cards are not supported on the Beagle.

I know some MicroSDXC cards do have backwards compatibility with MicroSDHC devices.

  • Thanks to both of you.

I am going to purchase a 32 GB MicroSDHC.
