Problem checking for update [fixed with manual reclone]

edited August 15 in Problems Now Fixed

Hi - When I press the "Check for software update" button, I get the following response

Installed version: v1.611, built Jul 1 2023 18:45:49

Git clone damaged!

Looking at other forum posts, I see the suggestion to try the "re-clone" button, but I have no such button.

The version is v1.611 from June 2023, which oddly does not appear on the list of released versions. Debian is 8.5

Does anyone have a suggestion about how I may resolve this issue and get updated to the latest release. Apart from the above, the device seems to work just fine.

Thanks Steve

    Hi Steve.

Yes, v1.611 is almost 90 software releases behind. So it doesn't surprise me the re-clone feature is not available in that version.

Please email support@kiwisdr.com as I think the easiest way forward is to put this Kiwi on the proxy service temporarily so I can connect to it and sort it out (I don't believe it is publicly listed now or available from the Internet from what I could see).

  • ok, thanks jks. I'll do that.

  • Fixed remotely by jks. Many thanks.
