Black listed IPs: What message, if any, do they receive when trying to connect?

I just wonder how communicative we are, when black listed IPs try to log on to our KiwiSDRs?

  • Ideally, there should be no response at all for visitors with a blacklisted IP, and the system should be completely "invisible" (like non-existent).

As far as I can test with my own kiwi (using a VPN in order to appear with an external IP after having added that very IP to the local blacklist), it seems to behave exactly as described.

  • DL7AWL, brilliant idea to test with VPN!

    thanks for info!!

  • If someone uses a VPN to connect to KiwiSDR will it show location as blank?

    I get those a lot....

How to black list all of 77.0.0.0 ?

    like this : 77.0.0.0/8 ?

    Thanks for help.....

    77.0.0.0/8 would be

    77.0.0.1 to 77.255.255.254.

But such a big range is usually not neccessary. You can do a IP whois to see which range belongs to an IP address.

  • This IP Address didn't say where it is....

    89.242.87.16

I looked it up with whois and said :

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland [GB]

What does KiwiSDR use to do lookup? It didn't work for KiwiSDR ? Why ?
