kiwi 2 working just fine with starlink and no vpn
i got my kiwi 2 alive and kicking! the rub here is i didn't actually have to do much of anything to get to get it to work via starlink. i gave it a shot on my phone this morning before biting the bullet and purchasing new cables, routers, and setting up bridges etc.
i sent my linkaroo to a friend to verify and it seems to work just fine. i mean, the rx signal quality isn't great and there's a ton of interference to figure out (neighbours camping trailer prob) but its a really promising start. 21183.proxy.kiwisdr.com i have the kiwi plugged into a small 'repeater' (a wodgreat ac1200). it is technically on its own network but it had a lan port, so i thought i'd give it a try. no vpn, no messing around with the beaglebone.. it just works.
the antenna is just a couple hundred meters of whatever was left on a spool of stranded single 14awg hanging off my barbed wire fence at the pasture on some electric fence insulators. i didn't want to go to a ton of work before i had the computer side of things figured out. i'll do a better job later this summer, pinky promise.

hello, here in France, the connection to your server is very stable, without dropouts. Your computer system works quite well. Well done. On the other hand, on the HF side, there are many local parasites, and a lack of sensitivity. You will improve reception by working on your antenna and RFI immunity. Best regards. Philippe
merci pour la rapport, et je suis d'accord. je pensais que starlink rendrait ça très difficile .. l'antenne sera beaucoup plus haute cet été et j'espère que mes voisins iront camper hihi
