  • Hey guys, no one gave me a report about the CAT functionality! Come on! ;-) I'm planning to try it with my old-but-beloved Yaesu FT-890 and have already ordered a hopefully-suitable CAT cable (I've never ever used the CAT interface before). And I'm …
  • Thanks for the explanation! Makes sense. Shame on me, I was not even aware that the passband field can be filled in with more than one value. (Maybe the entry "syntax" should be mentioned in the help text.)
  • Okay, Mike, I also tried it again with the still existing testlabel on my Kiwi, and now it was definitely different as with my first test - and almost the same as you described: passband looks like AM, but with 200 Hz total bandwidth. Additionally, …
  • I have tried to set a similar label on my kiwi - it works and behaves as it should without problems. Did you try to clear kiwi-related cookies and browser's cache? Very often this helps if things seem to got messed up.
  • Good idea; that should be okay in any case. BTW; you seem to have already changed your own Kiwi accordingly. Yesterday, I saw it still listing the user's IPs. That's a great gesture, respect and thanks!
  • In this context, it should be taken into account that not every visitor may agree with the unasked publication of his IP or the (more or less precisely "guessed") location in a kiwi's user list, as it may compromise his anonymity. If we th…
  • If it isn't exactly 66.660000 MHz I think there will be frequency error. Isn't having a correct clock the whole point? As the exact frequency of the external clock can be entered via admin interface / config tab, I guess that there is some tolerance…
  • My solar-powered (ethernet-connected) kiwi is also located in a barn where the temperatures are almost the same as outside. In winter, it is only turned on if needed, to save energy. As it is off most of the time, it always starts without any prehea…
  • [I had deleted this post in the meantime because I was unsure whether I had possibly misunderstood something. After reconsideration, however, I am now writing it again.] Most settings are stored locally in cookies. Therefore, your problem looks to m…
  • @jks "Don't know what you mean by "all". The right-click menu is not displayed in any areas related to extensions (you get the default right-click browser menu instead). Only the waterfall, frequency scale, band scale and spectrum di…
  • The link target URLs don't contain the part after the last slash. I tried to add it manually - then it works.
  • Yes, that's exactly how this special problem looks like. In my understanding, kiwi is unable to fetch some needed files. Then the following build process takes place anyway, but ends up with an error due to missing file(s), so the version number rem…
  • @kramcd Some people, including me, had the same problem. Try this via SSH root login, it should repair it.
  • Yes. According to instructions in opening post, the (EiBi-)labels have to be shift-clicked in order to get/keep the correct settings. (I also made normal clicks by mistake.)
  • Wow! From first suggestion to a working implementation within only ~3 weeks (of much work, I guess). Respect and many thanks for all your work, John! My first build process failed (like many others), and I had to do this fix. But after that, it work…
  • Maybe you almost have already what you want. If the format doesn't matter and any format is okay for you, why not use json like in the original file ~/kiwi.config/dx.json ? Then the only remaining inconvenience is that you have to "import"…
  • Haha, Martin, I just wrote about it, but you were faster! Just an hour ago, I received one of the occasional transmissions of SAQ, the historical machine transmitter in Grimeton, Sweden, on 17.2 KHz. https://youtu.be/f6cEm9A71g8 Part of my saved wa…
  • Okay, summary (and hopefully my last posting in this matter)... My test changes were effective immediately after "restore passband". But my changes back to the original settings weren't. Frontend did still show the test setting, even after…
  • OOOPS ... After trying to restore my old settings after the above test, I seem to have a similar problem. I'll try to investigate in order to be able to understand more precise what's happening. Sorry for the confusion.
  • I tried it and can't confirm your problem (v 1.470). On admin config page, section "Default passbands" I selected LSB and changed "passband low" temporarily to -4000. In Frontend with LSB selected, the change is reflected as expe…
  • From here (Germany) I can reach 72, 73 (redirects to 74), 74, 77, 78. Only 75 and 76 seem dead.
  • Did you try lowering the SPI clock to 24 MHz? (config tab in admin area) BTW, does somebody know if there are any disadvantages with the 24 MHz setting?
  • Is it really November 11/12? I'm suprised that one can predict such things that far and precise in advance... Maybe I have overseen something, but I didn't find anything related on the linked website. Anyway, as long as there are no official warning…
  • "Next to the frequency display is a Select Band list. The amateur bands do not include 30m, 40m, 80m, and 160m." Strange. On my kiwi and others, they do.
  • Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Obviously I misinterpreted my observations and what I read on their webpage. Sorry.
  • According to their website, they are sending 24/7, but are seemingly meant to be received only very locally in the area of Erlangen, Germany. At my QTH abt. 500 km from them, there is NOTHING. But I tried the three most nearby Kiwis which are shown …
  • As a diagnostic step to verify your assumption, you could temporarily remove any special characters from your passwords and increase their length instead so that security is not reduced. If this confirms your suspicion, you could keep it as an inter…
  • @Ulli Offending ECDSA key in /home/pi/.ssh/known_hosts:4  remove with:  ssh-keygen -f "/home/pi/.ssh/known_hosts" -R "192.168.10.151" Don't panic. This is part of the ssh security concept and means that the kiwi's ssh host key h…
  • update_fix to v1.463 ran smoothly without problems. Thanks again!
  • Oh, I think I can answer my own question. Logged in via SSH, I found a file named Beagle_SDR_GPS/update_fix, so it seems to be there always and not specific to step from v1.462 to v1.463 as I initially supposed. Thus, I think I can run it for update…
