  • Thanks ! Please let me know when the fix is in. Is it possible to use an earlier image that is known to work ?
  • Only variable is that all I had was a 32G Micro-SD Card....the directions say that 32G and larger ones sometimes cause problems. Will pick up an 8 and try it. Question : The last sentence of the first paragraph tells me that the device is powered u…
  • I extracted the file from the folder and used a program that writes the image to the card. The router sees my other two kiwis but not this one. To be sure I understand, the image is all I need to get to the admin page ? https://forum.kiwisdr.com/up…
  • https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/17754#Comment_17754 I did....I have RG174 to the terminals. One outputs noise and one works normally. While I cannot explain my original photo, let's discard it as I see no way that it could …
  • I learned more today. When I put my portable SDR on the antenna, I get superb quiet MW. I tried putting a T on the antenna and when I attached the questionable Kiwi and SDR together, the portable SDR got an S9+ hiss across the band. The Kiwi is outp…
  • I get Status 400 fails when trying to attach a photo now... The meter does show S9+20 and the noise floor around -110. Waterfall and meter are both at -13. I believe this started after the SMA connector was pulled off. Putting a short clip lead acr…
  • That last idea is fascinating. Putting anything around a 3/8" guy wire with 2000 pounds of tension on it isn't viable but I believe I have the pickup from the anchor solved and adding another one would be doable. The third guy anchor would be a…
  • Martin, Back from vacation and had a nice weather day yesterday to play. The anchors are steel. And my wire antenna is intact and working but if it fails, I will have to pay someone to climb 170' to repair it. If I can equal or exceed the wire perfo…
  • Hi Martin, I have long used a several hundred foot wire with good success but have always been fascinated by the superb MW reception near the tower anchors. I have now gotten that reception into the SDR on MW but it is not good on the LW band whe…
  • Hi Martin, I suspected the IM by the every 10khz line on the waterfall. Plus I have heard audio mixed with 19.8khz. Reception at the guy anchors on my 240' tower is exceptional in the MW band. My long term goal been to successfully couple it into a…
  • That fixed it John...thanks ! Updated to current version. Martin, found a good splitter on Ebay....thanks ! It is working very well on MW now as I was aiming for. 207.135.223.250:8073 Will start on the less sensitive one after the splitter arri…
  • Hi Martin, I have thought about a splitter but the lowest frequency they are rated for is 5mhz and I need one that will pass down to 20khz. I have not tried one to see if ii would work. I have the 'good' SDR working very well now but when I check th…
  • Hi Martin, This is this good SDR....want to make sure it is at full potential before introducing the other one back in the mix. 19.8khz from Australia is in now so it is passing VLF well. Here is a 0-30mhz with antenna connected with 5.1 ohms to…
  • Looking at the input terminals, I found that if I shorted the input (it had a 30 ohm resistor across it already to control signal levels), the signal was a lot cleaner. So I had overload issues as well. Now have 5.1 ohms across the terminals and her…
  • I believe I am on the correct terminals with about 4-5" of wire (ground and +) from each Kiwi into the coax. Metal cases on both Kiwi's (both Kiwis are on top of each other). Fact is, when I had the bad power supply into one Kiwi, it raised the…
  • https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/564/B9WKL2W1Y9D1.png The power supply was the majority of it. The S Meter on this one is still above S9 with no antenna but here is that one's noise floor. The other one drops to an S5 without antenna. The one that …
  • What is SMPS ? I assumed Power Supply and that seems to be where most of the noise originated. I bought a nice linear supply numerous years ago and watched my sensitivity slowly suffer. The supply was apparently going bad. Will take screenshots duri…
  • Hi John, https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/826/AT1HU5VOSGF6.png https://forum.kiwisdr.com/uploads/381/PT5JVB6CU8JV.png With antenna and without. I am assuming that the SMA connector was not performing any internal ground function between pins 2 and…
  • Thanks for the reply Martin. I wondered that as well but discounted it as the connectors were torn from the top of the board. Let me explain this event : I had some rather large RG6 cables into a T connector feeding each SDR. Been in the same place …
  • Not yet. But I did power each one down and it made no difference. I will try that next and report back. https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/17345#Comment_17345
  • As elitedata noted, the single button toggle idea is a good one and is growing on me but I would push for 15 as well as 20/10/5 with my reasoning being that in many cases, adjacent carriers will place a 9 or 10khz hetrodyne in the passband...not an …
  • Yes, 20khz. What my goal would be is for it to be intuitive for the user so I can avoid having to explain that Shift + P is required each time I invite someone to use the feature. I like the idea of a 20/15/10/5 toggle as long as there is a way to i…
  • John, how about either having the AM setting default to 10khz or providing an option for the admin to select a default bandwidth ?
  • Thanks John...it sounds fantastic. I really appreciate you adding this option.
  • Thanks ! I found it and added the feature to my public rx at http://38.86.67.206:8078/ . WJCP 1460 fully embraces the 10khz audio and plays music so it demo's the bandwidth well during the day.
  • I am also a fan of 20000HZ AM Bandwidth. Not only is it desirable for listening on some AM stations, but as a part time AM contract engineer, having 10khz audio output would allow Kiwi to be a viable AM air monitor option for AM stations. Even if it…
