@jks , as near as I can tell this error occurs when a client closes the web browser while in DRM mode. Then the next time DRM is selected this error message appears until the KiwiSDR server is restarted. At least that is the way it works on my BBAI,…

All of the SDR software I've used, HDSDR, SDR#, SDR Console, GQRX, and others, use manual waterfall adjustment. I generally find the KiwiSDR software auto scale to "hot" for my visual liking. I prefer a "cooler" waterfall using m…

@SM0AOM , For Linux I use Pulse Audio and Pavucontrol to manage audio streams. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Examples from the command line: man pulseaudio pacmd --help pactl --hel…

It might be useful to review this thread of information. http://forum.kiwisdr.com/discussion/comment/8733 Ron KA7U

Martin @G8JNJ , Outstanding results on your KiwiSDR with this antenna and nice write up. I'm curious why you chose the RPA-1 preamp instead of the LZ1AQ for this antenna? Ron KA7U

Stu, You could setup a cron job on the KiwiSDR with crontab -e , see "man crontab" for directions. Examples of commands that would write to the file of your choice below. Ron KA7Uroot@beaglebone:/home/debian# ct >>temp.logroot@beagle…

Radio New Zealand Inernational on 9780KHz, February 4, 2020, 18:00 utc. The output audio seems low on this signal. Don't know if it the station or the KiwiSDR. I do notice that my attempts to increase the audio gain with the audio control made no d…

Don, There is a pause in development. http://forum.kiwisdr.com/discussion/1898/pause-in-development In the mean time, you do have the password option that you can give individual users for extended time. Not as full featured as you ask, but with co…

OK, I have GRFC - Voice of Russia on 15325 playing audio with some QSB on an active loop, KiwiSDR / BBG, and 100% decode on the dipole with the BBAI. So Voice of Nigeria was definitely playing dead air. LOL, Sorry I jumped to conclusions. https://ww…

@jks , imagine that, broadcasting dead air. I hadn't thought of that. I'll wait for conditions to improve and try again. The test DRM works, so must have been dead air. Thanks for your patience. Ron KA7U

I am managing heat with this duct tape setup. It will hit a high of 52C with 2 DRM slices running with 2 AM slices. Typically runs 47C with all 4 AM slices. Running 1GHz. I think if this little 5v fan which is running on 4.4v from the USB jack, was…

15325KHz Voice of Russia GRFC loud and clear at grid DN14lf. I was able to decode on all antennas. This video is testing the KiwiSDR using the BeagleBone AI in 4 channel mode. All 4 channels were in use during the test and 2 of them were decoding DR…

@Tony1951 , If you didn't load from the SanDisk, I'd reload from the SanDisk, then remove it from the BeagleBone after it loads and shuts down. Then I'd restart the BB while it has an Internet connection and let it update again. Good luck. Ron KA7U
-
@Tony1951 , I'm sure you removed the SanDisk card after the initial startup? If you didn't, each time the KiwiSDR restarts it will reload from the SanDisk card. Ron KA7U

Yes, it is regular now and from Honolulu. Thanks for telling us. Ron KA7U (Image)

@jks , OK, so the little fan is pulling air through the case and I also added a section of card stock on the fan end to make sure the air was pulling through the fan and case and not churning on the fan end, at the time I disabled lightdm. That must…

"systemctl disable lightdm.service" seemed to have helped to lower the temp on the BBAI when running 4 full waterfall sessions by about 3 degrees +. I don't know what the GPU is doing, and don't know how to measure the power use change, …

I really like the ease of using the DRM extension on the KiwiSDR! Ron KA7U https://youtu.be/O8uMTe0DRdM

I have read that disabling HDMI and the GPU on the BBAI will save 500mw of power (heat reduction). I have not found the magic words to disable these functions. I still have a problem backing up the OS on the BBAI as well, although I think I can figu…

@jks , OK, I adjusted the GRFC transmitter location. I lazily posted the location listed on Short Wave Info. Voice of Nigeria is rock solid this morning. Had to make another video of the KiwiSDR decoding it. Excellent decode. A speculative thought…

Listening to RNZI @11690KHz, 17:51 - 18:50 utc. This signal is great on an active dual loop antenna and the 210' top dipole. Makes an echo listening to both of them, but fun to play with the KiwiSDR's and the antennas. What a great extension @jks ! …

Experimenting with 2 instances of DRM on my 8073 KiwiSDR which uses a BeagleBoard AI. It works, but not as well as one instance, or so it seemed. https://youtu.be/QJzOb1ePG84 Ron KA7U

I'm currently listening to Radio New Zealand - DRM on 9780KHz using a 210' top dipole (G5RV type) and my 8073 KiwiSDR. I was also able to decode it, but marginally with a dual 120cm diameter active loop antenna set. S6 with the loops, S6-8 with the …

Marin, I've got multiple browser with audio on the same KiwiSDR. Chrome : Version 79.0.3945.117 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on OpenSUSE, "openSUSE Leap", VERSION="15.1" Ron KA7U

In the past I've been turning AGC off while using IQ mode. This seemed to improve the DREAM audio decoding. Should AGC be left on with the DRM extension or off, or does it matter? Ron KA7U

I tried to backup my BBAI today but the write failed each time, even after a reboot and disconnecting from the Internet. I'm trying to use a 16Gbyte PNY Micro card. Ron KA7U

Having great reception on RNZI @ 11690KHz this morning. I even managed to receive it with 2 instances of DRM extension running on the BBAI @ 1GHz, although it was a bit intermittent. But with the DRM extension and the IQ extension feeding DREAM, I w…

Working with this, I think I see what @samhunt is doing with the IQ extension, but a higher resolution would be needed to see overlapping carriers that are very close to on frequency. Ron KA7U (Image)

@jks Yes as you wrote, using an AI, I'm using the same KiwiSDR both channels on the same frequency. I started testing this after failing to get an audio lock on what seemed to me to be a good DRM signal using the DRM extension. I usually use an open…
