Kiwi Settings Backup OTA ?

After a recent power cut I had to set up my 2 kiwi's again which is no fun, it would be really great if the settings could be backed up rather than to backup the whole image to micro sd ?

Say backup to laptop and restore, that would be fantastic.

What you need to backup and restore is the /root/kiwi.config directory (and files within it) on the Kiwi Beagle. Until such time as there is some help on the admin page to do this (e.g. browser download/upload) just use some command line magic from your laptop to copy these files.
  • I use WinSCP for this sort of thing, it makes it very easy.

When I first posted this I could not see Martin's reply.
WinSCP is my personal favourite but Filezilla client is available on more platforms AFAIK.

One advantage of WinSCP is that it can be automated so if you want to chedule a task backup, and you are on Windows, it offers greater options.

    Or the simple GUI way,
    (other software is available ;-)
