Unable to SSH

Hi,

This WE I have tried to login in SSH on the Kiwi, no success. "root" without password, as explained in the documentation, did not work from putty. WA2ZKD told me that "debian" would be the login. Can someone confirm ?

  • It's either the "root" account with no password (e.g. leave password field blank in PuTTY or just hit return with ssh).
Or alternatively there is an account called "debian" with a password of "temppwd".

Hi, this is what I had understood but it never worked, the kiwi asking for a password.

I will try debian next WE.(it's needed to put back the I/Q offset values in the config)

    thanks.

  • The debian account is also root ?
  • debian is a user, you can use su or sudo to access root functions

  • Yes for sudo but if it asks for a root password and I obvioulsy do not have it ?
  • wait until you see if that happens..
