Not seeing my station in Public [fixed]

Hi all and thanks in advance for your help. I am not seeing my station on the map. On local network everything is working well. So, reading stuff, I switched Connect to DUC Domain after signing up with NOIP.org. Then, after re-starting server indications are that I am connected. But that, I still am not showing on map. Could be that my router is blocking kiwisdr but after adding a NAT instruction for its local ip addy I am still not showing in Public, 73 Mark W3ILT

Based on the info on kiwisdr.com I'm pretty sure your ISP is blocking all incoming connections. So using the DUC doesn't help with that. Your only solution is to use the Kiwi proxy service which was enabled by default on your Kiwi-2. You can change the proxy configuration to use your call instead of the serial number in the proxy URL as you did with DUC.

  • I assume the ISP is using CG NAT, due to the severely limited IPv4 addresses available - where some ISPs (like BT in the UK) issuing only IPv6 addresses on the WAN and no IPv4 for residential customers.

  • WEEEEEEEE, IT WORKS!!! I am on the map now. Re-reading instructions to use kiwisdr server I did not turn off automatic on first try. So, I had a jumbled mess until I figured out how simple it is to change from ser.# to a call or something else. Thanks for your help. And I hope you'll be one of the first to listen into my radio shack in the woods of Pennsylvania. 73

  • No. In the USA ISPs are just vile. They want to sell you a "business" level service contract if you want incoming TCP SYN (and maybe a static IP). A leftover from the old days when the kiddies were all running Minecraft servers bogging down the shared bandwidth. These days none of that matters. Except when it comes to corporate greed. I know. I used to run an xDSL ISP in the late '90s.

We run a WISP network here and use CGNAT - however if a customer wishes to run any services, we add $10/mth to their bill and give them a static IPv4 address

It wasnt Minecraft servers that was the issue - it was the warez servers we stood up ;-)

  • That kiwisdr proxy is an easy fix because I connected directly to my ISP and it still did not work. I was troubleshooting backwards from router in shack. Cable proxy is 100 miles away so this route saved me the hassle of talking to techs.
