Display extra technical details in DRM Decoder?

It would be great if some technical attributes of the DRM signal and channel were displayed, presumably over to the left of the screen, perhaps underneath the area currently used for the 1..4 Services.

Useful information would include:

  • Number of subcarriers, and the subcarrier symbol rate (or occupied bandwidth);
  • Doppler / Delay of the signal (this is a hot topic of research at the moment, and will be talked about a lot in the waveforms used in 6G);
  • Interleaver Depth

Thanks, Chris

  • Is this information currently shown in Dream? (I can't get Dream to run on my Mac anymore, sigh)

  • Hi jks,

    Dream's screenshots show that Doppler/Delay is displayed (eg, "0.36Hz / 3.49ms") and Interleaver Depth (eg "2s (Long Interleaving)") is displayed.

    I didn't see any screenshot that shows the number of subcarriers, nor the symbol rate of each subcarrier, but the decoder must know this, and it'd be fascinating to know that attribute and see if each subcarrier is visible in the waterfall or not. (It might be, as the number of subcarriers is probably quite small compared to 1024 subcarriers in 5G etc).

    Okay, I'll see what I can do. I haven't looked at that stuff in a long time. Hopefully 6G turns out better than DRM did, lol.
