Stuck on version 1.699, won't update.

edited September 19 in Problems and Issues

In Update section of admin page "check for software update" returns this:

Installed version: v1.699, built Aug 25 2024 08:53:05

Git clone damaged!

Any ideas?

Please email your Kiwi link/URL and admin password to support@kiwisdr.com (assuming your Kiwi is reachable from the Internet).

Also, is this Kiwi located in Europe? We've been having update problems with those that are still running Debian 8.x located in Europe.

  • Will send data. This is on west coast USA, my other one updated fine last night. This one had trouble back in august after updating to 1.699, some parts didn't work right. I clicked on "Force software build" and it worked ok after that.

    Update:

I went to my other site, retrieved my kiwi.

    1. I made a full backup on a new card.
    2. Then with it on my local network I ran the "reclone sources", it dutifully deleted the whole Beagle_SDR_GPS directory. I Tried the update 4 times and it failed at about 3% every time.
    3. Started putty, ran midnight commander on my other machine, opened the right window connected to the broken one and copied the whole Beagle_SDR_GPS directory to it. It took a long time!
    4. Rebooted it and and everything worked with V1.701 with my DX files and config in place!
    5. Temporarily happy! I will eventually upgrade to Debien 11.
