KIWI SDR on a public IP ?

I was wondering if the KIWI SDR is set up securely enough to be put on a public IP (not behind a router/firewall) ? Has anyone done this and have they had any issues ?

    In my opinion not worth the risk, can't see the advantage. Services are discovered in a few seconds and unless you have disabled SSH log on with ordinary password they will be testing it constantly, forever.

    At one stage I stuck a small (Mikrotik) wifi router in the same case just so I could offload any network stress and link up wirelessly. There are options from a number of brands.
