KiwiSDR Recording - Is Prerecording Possible?

Audio recording is an excellent feature. I usually use TotalRecorder for audio recording, and since I usually deal with prerecorded SDR files, I don't really need TotalRecorder's prerecording feature. However it is of good use when DX-ing live, or linear. It's easy to miss an ID, and a buffer of, say 10 seconds, will help a lot. Could it be implemented in the Kiwi?

  • I think that should be fairly easy to implement.

  • how about a pause function
  • I think a pause function would tear up the logic behind the time-stamped file name. Better then to start a new recording. And speaking of time-stamp - maybe the buffer should be reflected into the file name. So if there is a 10-second buffer, the time portion of the file name, like T03_57_15, is changed to T03_57_05.
  • Audio recording facility is available for SDRs hosted in this web site. The link is as follows:

  • So has been in KiwiSDR for the last ten or so versions. That's not Bjarne's point. I think Bjarne's point is having the last 10 seconds of audio recorded constantly, regardless of the GUI recorder being active or not.
  • Recording facility is available in KiWi SDR. I just found it while listening to Delhi SDR. Please see the attached Jpg file for details.

  • VU3KTB, yes we all know that, no explenations needed. My question was if it could be possible to add a pre-recording buffer to the audio recording.
