SW update in the middle of our afternoon is not optimal

I just noticed that V1.195 was installed on one of my two kiwis in the middle of our workday. That wasn't a problem today, but I thought the update process was timed for the middle of the local night. Such a reboot will become an issue as we allow the public use of our Kiwis and put it into more critical operations.

  • 0200 - 0600 UTC. Will not update while there are active connections. But will update on a restart/reboot and if auto-run tasks (i.e. WSPR) are the only active connections.

Now that Kiwis can figure out their local time I suppose another admin configuration parameter could be added to set the update window. But I am very hesitant to make any changes to the update process because of the risk..
  • your current plan seems fine. thanks for the explanation
