JKS I will check that LED today and let you know. PN- The modem is on the 12v side of the supply. It is of course cold and possibly humidity is high - although the system is in a waterproof box it is not an IP-rated box. Maybe it should be. The mode…

This time of year no chance of overheating! BBG is in the ally case with fan. up to 24v in, 5v out. Yes, clamped up tight. The associated 4G modem never fails. Whole system is earthed via a rod. Long wire, fed via 49:1 transformer. Via 4G modem. I d…

No its definitely the correct one, good and tight.

The charge controller doesn't have a separate load output, you connect the load across the battery. Its a pretty basic one - I tried an expensive one which did, but it was very RF noisy! The 5v converter is 5.2v output and is rated at 5A. It's diffi…

Thanks - But I'd rather not have to use a separate PC or pi at the SDR, as its on a remote site with limited power from battery and solar, so I need to keep power consumption down. I'd prefer a solution that the Kiwi and my Teltonika 4G router can u…

It seems as if there is a problem with an outgoing route in the Mikrotik. Its hard for me to check as I'm not local to it, I will ask the admin of the VPN (who is a friend) to check it from his end. He may be able to see where the route is missing. …

Airwire.ie are the ultimate internet connection. But the connection is actually like this: Kiwi connected to a Mikrotik LT AP (192.168.10.1), which has a cellular SIM. Because the cell company do not give a static IP, I have a VPN set up so the Mikr…

18th was the last time the unit was at my home QTH. The admin control panel shows that it IS registered! (see screenshot attached). I will try to check the routing in the router today. Thanks for your help.

Hi, yes I am NOT on the same subnet as the Kiwi. The Kiwi is in a field a mile from my house! Is there anyway I can do a ping, or see if the outgoing route is working remotely? How is the Kiwi registering if it cannot see the outside world? Thanks.
-
I get "only available to local admin connections". And I'm not local to it!
-
Actually can you tell me how to initiate a ping from the Kiwi, so I can check if its working? -Thanks.
-
OK a routing issue I guess. I will check routes in the router. Thanks for checking.

I have one at the home QTH, I use it for TX/RX on 40, 80, 15 and 10. I use a dipole for 80. Its works well as a quarter-wave vertical, depending as all are on the ground/counterpoise system. I only have four radials for each band, which is about th…
