John, that's my understanding...you get a proprietary cable that goes to the dish that connects to Starlink's supplied router. The router has NO ethernet connections for LAN, it's wireless ONLY. Fun part is that proprietary cable then has a connecto…

Saying it's a pretty normal setup is not helpful....we need more details. IIRC Starlink is silly here.... What does the Starlink Dishy connect to? You have one ethernet wire that goes to the supplied Starlink router, which has only wifi connections…

With the question about figuring out what your Kiwi might see: Not exact, but you can find approximate V/m calcs online for field strength based on antenna gain, distance, power, etc.... Then you can use that field strength and your receive antenna …

Thanks for the reminder/warning, jks, even if it wasn't quite the full story. Just to note what I'm choosing to do: I just picked up a used DXE Receiver Guard on QRZ.com for $60. I plan to put this inline with my KiwiSDDR2 IN ADDITION to using a MFJ…

Because I was going to measure current, I just tried using a Meanwell 15V switching power supply I had on hand with a boost/buck converter...and turning the converter on was too slow to power on the Kiwi. I should have at least 1.7A available, but I…

I should I add I TOTALLY hear you on having the right tools and things with you! Over the years of developing a site from only trees to building a cabin on it, I've learned you can't anticipate all the tool needs, and neighbors that are full time ca…

Yep, exactly, it's an improvement and will get better over time as you tweak/change things. I've had to internalize that a bit myself. :-) Sounding a bit weak overall right now, but not too much RFI noise! So I assume it will get better with a bett…

njc, I don't think there's a magnet in the KiwiSDR2 GPS antenna...seems to just be adhesive. I assume a bit of metal will still help reception, though. -Nate N8BTR

Thanks for sharing, interested to check yours out when it's up and running! I'll be doing something similar with mine. Been getting acquainted with it at my main QTH, and then will move it to my cabin in NE Wisconsin later this spring, where it will…

@nitroengine Thanks for your experience! Giving me more confidence that maybe all will be fine now from same supply. @benson Interesting, I had not found that thread! These aren't expensive boards, either. I could see adding one to both the wifi an…

To answer my own question.... so far, it's a maybe. I initially had some issues where I needed to start the TL-WR802N first, but the last couple attempts I've done both at the same time and it's connected fine. I did change some settings on the TL i…

Martin, I doubt it's the image editor...I just resized a photo in MS Paint as a test. Tried another image, too. Same result. jks: Tried using Edge instead of Chrome, got the same error. Tried a different photo/file with the same result. Log says t…

Like was said, DHL asked for nothing and I paid nothing. I just waived the signature requirement online and gave delivery instructions then when I had a shipping notification, and they dropped it close to where I asked earlier than anticipated. (Min…

I have a KiwiSDR 2...and having issues with this as well, but can't get the background picture to change at all. Currently, not public while I sort out bugs... But when I try and upload a background picture, I get an error about file type? I've tri…

I've got 2 phones....and just found my iphone does this too, but my Android phone stays on. I'll have to see what the youtube link above has to say. -Nate N8BTR

VE3QCX, Got any insight on your PS? What crowbar circuit did you use for your homebrew setup? Input line filtering...what'd you use there? -Nate N8BTR

https://forum.kiwisdr.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/15900#Comment_15900 Do you have any more info on this? Schematic, parts list, pics, or anything like that? Interested in how you handled some of this, like the double regulating, etc. -Nat…

Any insight on the internet bandwidth requirements for the KiwiSDR2? Will it be similar/the same as the 1, around 320 kbps max with 4 channels? I've got about 500-600 kbps upload speed reliably at my remote QTH, so the Kiwi fits the bill better tha…

Thanks for the input! While I do have DSL in the area, I'm far enough from the DSLAM that the copper pairs buried near me are too far to use VSDL... so at least the local DSL interference I think would be more limited to 2.2 mhz, and not all the way…

I'm interested in one. Thinking of placing it at my 2nd QTH, where I only have 600kbps of upload speed, so a KiwiSDR that is easy to use remote AND doesn't require insane bandwidth is ideal. Would love to be able to share with others and wspr moni…
