Hey thanks for mentioning the aluminum enclosure, I had completely forgot to order one. Arrow had 5 in stock, 4 now.
-
My order was inventory 10 going to 9. This morning I got the shipment notification from Seeed, as well as the tracking info direct from DHL. :)
-
Out of stock already? That was quick. The KiwSDR is popular :)

I eliminated forum spam at the HFunderground.com website by adding two questions to the new user registration process: What is the two letter abbreviation for morse code and Type in the three words for the abbreviation LSB. That seems to have stumpe…

Good to hear, John. I was kinda guessing it was either the ADC or FPGA  I always liked LTC back in the day when I did hardware design for a living, for similar reasons. Speaking of ADCs, I remember in particular a Burr Brown 16 bit ADC I d…

At some point a price increase to cover the increased cost of the component is not unreasonable, either. The KiwiSDR is insanely popular (and for good reason, it's great value for the money) and would probably still be so even at a higher price. I …

I've had this problem also. Well, the IPs connecting anyway, not sure if they have caused problems or not. They seem to like 5598 kHz and other HF air traffic control frequencies. I've mentioned this in a previous thread. I block their IP address, a…

Awesome! I have been looking forward to this for some time! It works perfectly tuned into a broadcast station in MW. Great sound, love it. If I listen to my own Talking House Part 15 Transmitter, I get an occasional clunk/glitch sound in the audio…

Coincidentally, I added 161.117.57.140 the other day as well. Seemed to be some sort of a bot that sat on air traffic channels, even after I notched one of them out. I also added 117.30.95.143 which seems to be doing the same thing. EDIT: And now a…

The tuning lock feature is very handy, I often like to scroll around the waterfall while continuing to listen to a station, and this helps prevent me from accidentally re-tuning. Thanks!
-
I aim for a waterfall color mapping similar to KA7U's. Autoscaling is tricky, along with auto-anything else. It can get you close, then touch things up with some manual adjustments. What I end up with depends a lot on what particular signals I am l…

A few months ago I played around with ranking KiwiSDR receivers. It's quite subjective, to get anything close to reasonable you basically have to decide ahead of time which receivers are "good", which are "bad", and adjust your a…

Not a complaint at all, jks! I greatly appreciate my itch being scratched :D

It seems this was added to the KiwiSDR as of version 1.371, thank you very much! I don't see it in the change log, so I am bumping this thread up so others who may also have missed its addition learn about it. I am using it to add the HFUnderground…

I'll give my KiwiSDR Sound Client python script a shameless plug, it might be useful for your project? https://blackcatsystems.com/software/kiwiSdr-sound-client-virtual-audio-device.html

Thanks for the diagram and information, Ulli, it helps a lot. I do not have a large farm, but I do have a few acres in a rural area, so room for many antennas. I may try installing something like this and see how it does.
-
A very interesting antenna! Do you have a sketch / drawing of the wiring and connections? I think I may have figured it out from the description on the company website, but am not 100% sure.

Re Drop.com: I think many/most of the China tariffs have been dropped now, I have received emails from several of my electronic component vendors mentioning that. Of course now China has the coronavirus to deal with, so that throws another monkey wr…

I second the multipath suggestion, when I had the hockey puck antenna in the shack, I found moving it by an inch produced substantial differences in GPS performance. With three cats, this was a problem. I finally got a "Lucent GPS 40dB High Ga…

Any possibility of offering more than 4 full receivers with a a Beaglebone AI? 7 or 8 for example?
-
Sorry, the "here" was here on the KiwiSDR discussions forum :) That said, I spent some time this morning gathering data from various online KiwiSDRs, and it seems roughly half have zero or perhaps 1 or 2 GPS satellites, so I did not use…
-
I am willing to try writing an extension to do this, if someone can point me to information on making your own extension. I found the example code at https://github.com/jks-prv/Beagle_SDR_GPS/tree/master/extensions/example but need a few more scraps…

I am seeing significantly better DRM with 1.369, listening to Nigeria now on 15120 with just an S6 signal. Great work, thank you!
-
Yes, significantly better performance now. I am tuned into Nigeria on 15120 at 1655 UTC, about an S6 signal, and getting a SNR of 18.4 dB and good audio. Great job, jks!

v1.368 January 11, 2020 DRM extension fixes and improvements: AGC was missing from DRM IQ input. Should now work as well as Dream with weaker signals.
-
Any tips on using the IQ plugin to do this? I can't seem to figure out the correct settings.
-
(Quote) That may be the issue I was running into. I'll give it some more time after the last other user leaves. Or is shown the door :)
-
Anyone else notice DRM no longer working (doing anything) on their KiwiSDR? I think this started with the 1.361 update. If I select DRM mode, nothing appears in the graph, IQ display etc. Just blank. EDIT: Rebooting the Kiwi seems to have fixed th…

Heh, I was doing this a few weeks ago with some of my users. I'm still trying to find a way to integrate my RocketChat with the KiwiSDR page, but no luck so far. I think it would be a very handy tool for users. I'll play around with it some more wh…

I was able to get audio from Radio Romania's DRM transmission yesterday on 41m, briefly, when I switched from my 670 ft horizontal sky loop to 43mb dipole. Even then it was hit or miss. The signal levels were quite strong and there wasn't any obviou…
