Hi John, Yes, the second solution is what I was thinking of long term, directly modifying dx.json was a first step of "can I get something to work, having never touched this code before".

While I have a few decades of experience programming, I've never done anything with the KiwiSDR code other than look at it :) I'm more than willing to give this a try myself, if someone can point me to even some brief instructions for how to do a…

Checking my overnight netSDR recordings on 43 meters, I see this signal was present, quite strong, starting around 0000z or a bit earlier. So it's likely strong on my KiwiSDRs as well, if anyone wants to use them for TDoA purposes. I have a fairly l…

We've been discussing this over on the HFUnderground.com for a few years now, as some of their transmissions have impacted our listening pursuits due to interference, for example: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,42596.0.html I t…

The audio sounded OK on some 25m SWBC stations I listened to. The change you see in the waterfall is probably due to the changes in the waterfall: http://forum.kiwisdr.com/discussion/2112/v1-403-colormap-improvements-multiple-drm-schedule-databases…

Thanks for the colormap enhancements, John, greatly appreciated! Speaking of user settings, is there a way to save the bandwidth settings for the various modes (AM, etc)? For example, I prefer to keep the AM bandwidth down around +/- 2.8 kHz or …

A few suggestions, you may have already tried some of them, but here goes... (I assume you have one of those integrated routers/modems) Disconnect the coax cable and ethernet cables from the cable company router/modem, unplug the power supply from…

Mouser now shows 28 KiwiSDR Expected 10/2/2020 They also show 12 enclosures in stock, 14 Expected 11/23/2020

The KiwiSDR is back in stock at SEEED https://www.seeedstudio.com/KiwiSDR-Kit-p-2725.html

I have very occasionally heard one or two US LORAN stations on the air for what I assume are tests. I have not seen announcements of these, just luck that I checked 100 kHz and found them on the air.

It would be amusing if the KiwiSDR allowed us to feed an audio stream into it, and specify a frequency, and have the audio appear there to any listeners. Think of the possibilities :D
-
What I'd find interesting would be the ability to not use passwords to "reserve" receivers, but instead let someone use a password to "bump off" an existing (not local) connection. That way the receivers aren't put out of commiss…

I went down the higher performance outside GPS antenna route a year ago (see my post(s) above). I added a second KiwiSDR and split the signal to it as well, and both are getting great signals and usually tracking 11 or 12 satellites (I have a shadow…

Perfect, thank you!

Is it possible to get the URL to set the mode to DRM? It seems to work for other modes, but when drm is in the URL the Kiwi opens in AM mode. Or am I doing something wrong? (Entirely Possible)

A year or so ago, I went down the rabbit hole of trying to come up with an automated measurement of the SNR/"quality" of online KiwiSDRs. It's one of those cases where you can look at a waterfall and pretty quickly decide how "good&qu…

Thank you for catching that! Seems to be correct now.

Well, this is curious. The temperature is the same. Within one or two tenth of a degree F anyway. I can cool it about 5F further by blowing air into the chassis vs drawing it out (which seems reasonable). I am not sure if that increases the chance…

Mine arrived late this morning, speedy DHL delivery for sure. I just put it online after completing lawn mowing chores. I had to re-remember a few things regarding setting it up :) Cloning worked great to move the DX Labels and such over. Not a …

Thanks for the suggestions! Here is Version 2.0, I mounted the fan on a piece of plastic (from a kids lunchbox that was going into the recycling bin) to direct more airflow through the power supply chassis. (Image) The cutout is not terribly nea…

Hey thanks for mentioning the aluminum enclosure, I had completely forgot to order one. Arrow had 5 in stock, 4 now.

My order was inventory 10 going to 9. This morning I got the shipment notification from Seeed, as well as the tracking info direct from DHL. :)

Out of stock already? That was quick. The KiwSDR is popular :)

I eliminated forum spam at the HFunderground.com website by adding two questions to the new user registration process: What is the two letter abbreviation for morse code and Type in the three words for the abbreviation LSB. That seems to have stumpe…

Good to hear, John. I was kinda guessing it was either the ADC or FPGA  I always liked LTC back in the day when I did hardware design for a living, for similar reasons. Speaking of ADCs, I remember in particular a Burr Brown 16 bit ADC I d…

At some point a price increase to cover the increased cost of the component is not unreasonable, either. The KiwiSDR is insanely popular (and for good reason, it's great value for the money) and would probably still be so even at a higher price. I …

I've had this problem also. Well, the IPs connecting anyway, not sure if they have caused problems or not. They seem to like 5598 kHz and other HF air traffic control frequencies. I've mentioned this in a previous thread. I block their IP address, a…

Awesome! I have been looking forward to this for some time! It works perfectly tuned into a broadcast station in MW. Great sound, love it. If I listen to my own Talking House Part 15 Transmitter, I get an occasional clunk/glitch sound in the audio…

Coincidentally, I added 161.117.57.140 the other day as well. Seemed to be some sort of a bot that sat on air traffic channels, even after I notched one of them out. I also added 117.30.95.143 which seems to be doing the same thing. EDIT: And now a…

The tuning lock feature is very handy, I often like to scroll around the waterfall while continuing to listen to a station, and this helps prevent me from accidentally re-tuning. Thanks!
