I had a coax and wire version of the wellbrook that I compared it to and from my location, there was no perceptible difference in listenable signals even though the SNR on the loops were much higher.

I prefer passive over active antenna to reduce failure points and simplify installation. An active loop will also amplify noise in the neighborhood and there is plenty of noise around my location. I have my 303WA-2 mounted on a 6-foot metal pole which is mounted directly onto dirt. I’ve also been experimenting with attaching radials and making the ground more conductive by watering the dirt, which actually seems to improve the signal strength a bit until the dirt dries.

Thanks for the continuous updates. The kiwi2 has been my most used sdr for the HF bands. The hardware is reliable and the software and services makes it the most useable.
